Can't we be optimistic, this is better than pretty much every other company on this kind of thing.
I'm supprised with how big WoW is they don't do that.
Like EQ offers legacy servers i believe, and they also have a server which starts off like the game first came out and as people do and unlock content it rolls out what would have been the next expansion.

Wasn't it Everquest who were surprisingly chill regarding a 'classic' private-server, where their only real demand was that it was non-profit?

No idea about Everquest, but Ultima Online freeshards are tolerated I'm pretty sure.
