Donald Trump says he wants to do press briefings instead of Sean Spicer
President Donald Trump apparently isn’t too happy about the mismatched messages coming from his communications team and says it may be best if he takes on the role of conducting press briefings himself.
Mr Trump made the suggestion during an interview with Fox News that is set to air this weekend.
“We don’t have press conferences, we just don’t have them, unless I have them every two weeks and I do them myself,” Mr Trump said in a clip, describing his post-press briefing dream life. “I think it’s a good idea.”
PLEASE!
Slightly old, yes, but since Spicer's job seems to be in danger lately, the idea of Trump doing his own press conferences becomes much more funny.
In terms of lies, it probably won't get any worse but at least it'll be much funnier :v:
Imagine being so incompetent that you can't even lie to the American people properly
This would be absolutely hilarious.
I hope it happens.
Please

He'll probably do one, won't be able to take the heat, and will announce the next day over twitter that press briefings are cancelled until further notice.

This is actually exactly what I'm expecting.
I hope he does this, and gets absolutely wrecked.
I wonder how well Donny is gonna be able to pivot when those darn liberals ask any tough questions. Can orange become red?
If this is true, I'm afraid it would end up with Trump consistently replying with "No, not you, you're fake news, I'm not answering your questions, that's not true."
Could even end up with him barring every outlet aside from Fox, Breitbart and RT.
Let him. All it will do will turn up the heat. If the president refuses to engage with the media, it leaves a vacuum to be filled with speculation. He'll only have himself to blame if his isolationist approach emboldens media outlets to slam him on Comey/Russia 24/7. Not the healthiest thing for our national discourse, but that's what you get when you're a thin-skinned manbaby.
Let him do it, we need even more comedy from this burning dumpster fire of an administration before the impeachment process kicks in.
Of course, he'll then pull one press conference then say they're canceled until further notice because of harassment from the fake news
This isn't good, he'll probably do one or two then just decide to axe the press conferences altogether.
Trump's first press conference would involve holding up the severed head of Kathy Griffin.
please do. i want the crazy bullshit from this administration to be irrafutible

damn has it really been only a month since he tossed gasoline on the fire in DC?
I half-expect him to outright explode during the first one he does. He's going to lose his temper REALLY hard.

More likely that he won't let anyone in but Infowars, Breitbart, Fox, and selected alt-right bloggers or something, with White House staff pretending to be reporters as well.
Everything else about the man's a puppet show with no substance, so why change now.
Would these be more or less self incriminating than his tweets though

Also what would happen when he was overseas? would he skype himself in?
Hasn't he watched Spicer's conferences? All they do is call him out on his bullshit and Trump has shown that he is incapable of dealing with being called out and he becomes a blubbering retard like when he was called out on a statement he made about how great his victory is

Ssssshhhh, don't tell Trump that.
trump should do it, god knows spicer needs a break
I wonder if Trump would just have a mental breakdown if he tried.
He just falls on the floor into the fetal position, whispering to himself 'you're fake news...you're fake news...."
Sean Spicer was MIA in the last press briefing.

If anyone has the time please look behind the bushes in your garden to see if he is there and if you see him check his collar to call the owner.
Trump seems to be the sort of person that believes that nobody else can do a better job than he could.
I suspect the only reason he appoints people to cabinet positions is because he HAS to, and even then we've seen that he's more than willing and happy to give important jobs to family members.
Hell, we've even seen it with his "blind trust".
