A reserve soldier has been granted his request not to deploy to Afghanistan because he believes Barack Obama's presidency is not legitimate, the Columbus, Ga., Ledger-Enquirer reported Wednesday. U.S. Army Major Stefan Frederick Cook, who volunteered for duty in May, says he would be committing a crime to serve under Obama because he believes Obama was born outside of the United States, making him ineligible to become president. Lt. Col. Maria Quon, an Army spokeswoman, told the newspaper that Cook was no longer expected to report Wednesday to MacDill Air Force Base in Florida for mobilization to active duty. Cook filed a request last week in federal court seeking a temporary restraining order and status as a conscientious objector through his attorney, Orly Taitz, the newspaper reported. Taitz, who has challenged the legitimacy of Obama's presidency in other courts, asked the court to consider granting her client's request based upon Cook's belief that Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and therefore ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces. Cook states he "would be acting in violation of international law by engaging in military actions outside the United States under this President's command, simultaneously subjecting himself to possible prosecution as a war criminal by the faithful execution of these duties." Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961, two years after it became a state. Cook is an "individual mobilization augmentee," or a reserve soldier assigned to an active component unit for duty, the newspaper said. He submitted a formal written request to Human Resources Command-St. Louis on May 8 volunteering to serve on year in Afghanistan. A hearing on Cook's request will take place Thursday in federal court in Columbus, Ga. Incidentally, Cook did not have to hire a lawyer to refuse his orders to go to Afghanistan. As a reserve soldier and volunteer, he has the right to revoke his deployment orders. As much as I hate Obama, he is the legal president.
Now every soldier is going to say that Obama wasn't born in US.
I'd be worried too, because I also think that Obama was not born in the US.
O rly?
why should I care what this guy thinks? (User was banned for this post ("Then why reply?" - Greeman))
why should I care what this guy thinks?
Why are you posting in this thread?
why should I care what this guy thinks?
You care enough to have posted :downs:
Why are you posting in this thread?
that is my commentary on the thread. I don't think that this guy should be national news.
Fox does. I wonder why.
Chickenshit
Perhaps he should receive a dishonorable discharge?
Someones chickening out at the last second.
What a pussy. You volunteered to serve, you get military discounts, and when the military says it's time to deploy you come up with the lame excuse that you don't believe that Obama is the legal president, even though there's no evidence to back that up. I hope he has to go.
op why do you post like 5 threads at once and then not post for a while
Excuses, you signed for that shit, get to it. I dont like the military, but that guy's a pussy.
This man is an absolute fool. Obama is the legitimate president, and this issue has come up enough already. Second thoughts about the service most likely.

He is a reserve soldier, so yea... still disappointing that there are still birthers... I always take everything with a grain of salt, but I trust that the government isn't corrupt to that point.
Ugh... Obama was born in Hawaii. Even more so, if McCain was elected, he is even less 'American', considering he was born on a U.S naval base around Panama.
The Title Is Improperly Capitalized.
The Title Is Improperly Capitalized.
I didn't do that on purpose. All of my news thread titles are complete copy and paste of the title of the article. If the article had it capitalized like that, then that's how the thread title will be.
Perhaps he should receive a dishonorable discharge?
I doubt that, a dishonorable discharge is a complete kick to the nuts, McDonalds wont even hire people who have gotten dishonorable discharges, if you got one your more or less SOL.

I think you should have to live in the U.S. a majority of your life, but still.
Ugh... Obama was born in Hawaii. Unlike bush, where he was born into a legacy.
I believe the reason that rule was created was so that the president does not have any loyalties to any country other than the U.S. [editline]11:00PM[/editline]
I doubt that, a dishonorable discharge is a complete kick to the nuts...
Then maybe you shouldn't have kicked the colonel in the nuts.

Nobody likes Prime Minister Brown and we still have British troops. Hmm.
Then modify it to be correct you lazy person :).
That would be up to the mods, who aren't policing the titles of threads for capitalization errors.
Then modify it to be correct you lazy person :).
I would rather have the thread title match the article title exact. I just like it that way. Maybe it's OCD :downs:
Only a pure blood American can be president. No filth bloods allowed. Hiel America!
