My Samsung laptop battery charges up to 80%, Does that mean its safe to leave it in there and never take it out while its charging?
Charging or not, you can take it out or install it whenever you want. When it's charged, the charging circuit turns off by itself.
I usually keep the charger plugged in, Would it be FINE to keep the battery in ? Since it only charges up to 80% it wont drain its life or something?

Alright, thanks
To extend the life of the battery, you better remove the battery when it's charged. Best thing is to bother the battery when you REALLY need it. Leaving it always in can harm it still, as the battery doesn't like high temperatures.
to extend the batteries lifetime you want to store it at 40% actually
Also, this may be useful but leaving the battery out can reduce your laptops temp's. I went from 52C to 48C after removing the battery.
Sticking it in the fridge (in a sandwich bag) is a good way of storing it, slows it all down and holds the charge for longer too.
I had a laptop with a removable battery which drained to 0% without me knowing (was asleep in my bag when I got back from work, went on holiday, came back). The battery cells died as a result and now the battery is useless - won't charge at all. I've also had a digital camera battery die the same way. I've recommend ANYONE leaving their laptop any more than 3-4 days unplugged to remove their battery and keep it separate from the laptop. This is what manufacturers recommend and I've been bitten in the past by not doing it.
Going a bit off-thread here, but this question doesn't stop bothering me What battery type do smartphones use these days? Either Lithium Ion or the more dangerous but more durable Lithium Polymer? Can't see it on this battery pack.
My Samsung laptop battery charges up to 80%, Does that mean its safe to leave it in there and never take it out while its charging?
Samsung has a feature in the BIOS that only lets the battery charge up to 80% in an effort to extend the batterys lifetime. Windows might say that it's still charging, but the BIOS should stop the battery charging. It should be cool. I have it turned off because I need the extra time for long cordless times at university.
