• A gay man had a surrogate baby with his mother
A gay man has spoken of his joy after his mother gave birth to his child, following a surrogate pregnancy. Anne-Marie Casson, 46, gave birth to baby Miles via C-section, after a donor egg was fertilised with the sperm of her 27-year-old son, Kyle. Kyle, 27, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire is believed to be the first single man in the UK to have a child through surrogacy, and also the first man to use his own mother as a surrogate host. But after a High Court ruling, he can now become the child’s legal father, despite also legally being the youngster’s brother. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mrs Casson said: ‘When he first came to me and his dad, I thought ‘I could do it’. Some people, when they did find out, said “urgh”, but they don’t understand. ‘He is not biologically tied to me, other than he’s my grandson. I love being a parent and for Kyle to experience that, I would do that for him.’
Read more.
Some people, when they did find out, said “urgh”
Urgh...
Weren't they risking the same health issues as other incestuous births? I simply don't see the logic. Also ew. Eeeeeeeeewww.
Well it was a donor egg not her own.
Weren't they risking the same health issues as other incestuous births? I simply don't see the logic. Also ew. Eeeeeeeeewww.
Doner egg. Not her eggs, not incest. The only thing she did was basically shelter and feed the baby until birth.
Yea I like to call it the chestburster method since theyre inserting the already fertilized egg inside of you.
Weren't they risking the same health issues as other incestuous births? I simply don't see the logic. Also ew. Eeeeeeeeewww.
The egg wasn't from the man's mother, no need to worry about the issues caused by incest, or old age of the surrogate mother. [editline]aa[/editline] oops.
i see no problem with this considering the egg was not the biological mother's. i'm sure this had to be properly verified with people who study issues like this as their career.
Would make for an awkward conversation at the dinner table
Good ol' daily mail maximising the "wtf" factor
really there's nothing wrong with this
great origin story for a supervillian
I expected a Jerry Springer episode when I opened this thread, dammit.
really there's nothing wrong with this
There's a bit of a social "eeuugh" response, since the woman gave birth to her own grandchild, but from a strictly logical and scientific perspective... It's fine. No incest, and the child will be fine.
Title makes this seem a lot worse than it actually is.
Well despite the rest of you being remarkably adjusted to the thought, I myself would find the situation incredibly weird.
The thing is not that this is wrong, its the fact that the title is worded weirdly and people are coming in say "EWW". I'm happy the man got to have a child of his own.
The people that are grossed out by this didn't read the article. It's perfectly understandable that he'd have the woman he trusts the most carry his child with a donor egg.
The people that are grossed out by this didn't read the article. It's perfectly understandable that he'd have the woman he trusts the most carry his child with a donor egg.
Ehh... there's nothing wrong with it, but it's still weird.
I find this hot.
Title makes this seem a lot worse than it actually is.
The word surrogate is more than enough information to know that there's no incest going on.
Weren't they risking the same health issues as other incestuous births? I simply don't see the logic. Also ew. Eeeeeeeeewww.
donor egg, his sperm, besides being his mother, its not any different than IFV with donors
Fucking daily mail at it again. There's nothing wrong or disgusting about this. It's a bit odd thinking the baby came out of this guy's mother, until you sit back and remember your fifth grade science/sexual education course.
The people that are grossed out by this didn't read the article. It's perfectly understandable that he'd have the woman he trusts the most carry his child with a donor egg.
it's still horribly weird and awkward
it's still horribly weird and awkward
Considering this removes the need to pay tens of thousands for a surrogate womb, the legal work behind it and it also gives this homosexual man a child that is his own, I think this outweighs the obscurity and knee jerk reactions that people give of the situation.
Ehh... there's nothing wrong with it, but it's still weird.
So? Being gay is also weird by a certain definition so what is the point of even saying this?
Well despite the rest of you being remarkably adjusted to the thought, I myself would find the situation incredibly weird.
obviously i don't see this is as incredibly regular and not out of the ordinary, but that's just a knee jerk reaction on my own behalf. as a technicality there's nothing wrong with this beyond how out of the ordinary it is.
it's like Phoebe from Friends, right?
I see people are gathering up in this thread is this gonna be another one of those epic sexuality threads?
Doner egg. Not her eggs, not incest. The only thing she did was basically shelter and feed the baby until birth.
Ah, my bad. Then its not that gross, just very unorthodox
