• Trump visits Trump-branded property for 8th consecutive weekend
During his news conference on Friday, Press Secretary Sean Spicer tried to argue that President Trump couldn’t possibly have worked harder in his unsuccessful effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Spicer also said Trump planned to spend a “working weekend” in Washington, D.C. But on Saturday, Trump headed to a golf course for the 12th time during the nine weeks he’s been president. And by visiting the Trump National Golf Club in suburban Virginia, Trump — who repeatedly ripped President Obama for his much less-frequent golf outings and promised he “would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done” during the campaign — has now visited a Trump-branded property for eight straight weekends. That covers all but the very first weekend of his presidency.
https://thinkprogress.org/trump-visits-trump-branded-property-for-8th-consecutive-weekend-98f14337db34#.nagfhvxhq
Fuck he's been president for 9 weeks? Feels like much longer, considering his awful attempts at getting anything done.
its like if doug dimmadome was the president of dimmsdale
Trump headed to a golf course for the 12th time during the nine week

“I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done,” Trump told a reporter in 2015. “I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off… You don’t have time to take time off.”
And once again, the fraud exposes itself.
Low energy president can't handle the stress of the job. Sad!
Give the guy a break. Do you know how tiring it is to constantly blame the democrats on everything?

The worst part about this is that Trump's business is making money off of taxpayer money. Seriously, no clue why this isn't considered a breach of ethics.
Low energy, FAILING president sulks at taxpayer expense. Sad!

I wouldn't call him corrupt yet but god damn, Trump's poor work ethic and incompetence is just pathetic. You never see Australian, British, Canadian prime ministers, German chancellors etc doing this kind of thing. And this isn't just a criticism of Trump himself; their seems to be a huge aura of untouchability and royalty to American Presidents, and American politicians in-general. Eg you would never see a US President do something like what Aus PM Turnbull did last week by having a beer in a pub with The Betoota Advocate. And apparently Swiss federal Councillors can often be seen using public transport. But American politicians? They're like a separate class of people, like classical European royalty. The whole aura of untouchability is probably why American politicians can get away with so much shit.

"How you use the game of golf is something that he's talked about," said Spicer. He added that just because Trump is at one of his golf courses doesn't mean he's actually playing a round. Spicer said reporters have jumped to conclusions and falsely assumed in some instances that the president was golfing. The reporter followed up by asking why the details of "productive meetings" on the golf course are not being shared with the media. "The president is entitled to a bit of privacy at some point," Spicer responded.
not sure what's worse: that the trump admin thinks we're dumb enough to buy this bullshit, or that a good amount of people really do buy it
The worst part about this is that Trump's business is making money off of taxpayer money. Seriously, no clue why this isn't considered a breach of ethics.
It is, but the people who would prosecute him are playing partisan so he gets off scot free.

Of course Trump is probably just dicking around, I don't really know.

But also just because he goes to the course doesn't mean he plays golf." So what the fuck is he doing? Jerking off in the clubhouse? How is that somehow better?

Jerking off in the clubhouse? How is that somehow better?
Best case scenario is that he's just being a huge hypocrite and taking excessive vacation time. The most realistic case is that he's promoting and overseeing his businesses empire, obviously. He never divested himself from his businesses, and is now he's visiting them every weekend to illegally manage operations and promote his interests.

If this story is implying what I think it is, then I know I should be disgusted, but I can't help but think that 9 weeks of events is not quite enough to compare to a whole 8 year presidency. This is assuming the whole gripe on presidential vacation isn't just a petty shit-flinging fest, of course.

He's a hypocrite.

The first 9 weeks into Trump's presidency has had more golfing than the first 9 weeks of Obama's presidency.
At times I do feel that Trump might just be taking the piss. Or maybe he's taking postmodern art to the next level. Perhaps he'll just turn around, pull of the mask and reveal that he was Andy Kaufman all along, and then he'll point towards all of the cameras of the media and social media and point out how it was all just an elaborate prank on a global scale. Wishful thinking perhaps.
If he criticized Obama for doing something, and then does that thing in excess, i'm not sure what's to forgive. He's a hypocrite.
What's the excess? Can you compare these things? Is the number of golf course visits made by the president a useful metric? I could do a little desktop widget for it if it's something I should be keeping an eye on. [editline]25th March 2017[/editline] The point I'm getting at is that this is a useless, superficial thing to be harping on the President for when there's so much more going on in the country. I have to wonder what goes through the minds of the folks reporting this kind of tabloid garbage.

That's just stupid. He should under no circumstances be taking this many breaks and holidays. He's the President of one of the most powerful countries in the world. I'm certainly glad he's not my President - but some of his actions could very well affect me. So I sure as hell want him to start acting like a damn President!

Obama's expenses were roughly 12 million a year.

But the reason this is making news is because he complained about Obama taking a ton of vacations, and then he takes a ton of vacations. He's being a hypocrite.
I never really cared about the vacations thing regarding any president but it it's super sketchy that he is sending taxpayer dollars directly into his own businesses. Not to mention the conflict of interests and dubious security at his Mar-a-Lago base.

So far Trump's presidency has been theater, complete with curtains, smoke and mirrors, spotlights, to the audience when convenient, and a narrator telling what the play actually really means.
