On Thursday, we reported that Adam Smith bullied an employee of Chick-fil-A over the management's position on gay marriage. Thursday afternoon, Vante, Inc., a medical device manufacturing firm in Tucson, Arizona, announced that Smith was no longer employed with the firm. "Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company," the company said in a statement. "The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others," the statement added. Video: Vante executive fired after berating Chick-fil-A employee The company expressed hope "that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees." On Wednesday, Smith recorded himself berating a Chick-fil-A employee after ordering a free cup of water. "I don't know how you can live with yourself and work here. I don't understand it," he said. "This is a horrible corporation with horrible values," he told the young woman at the drive-through window. "While part of me wants to fist pump and revel in this schadenfreude, another part of me hesitates to celebrate," Dana Loesch wrote at Breitbart.com. Loesch observed that Smith was not "representing the company" when he bullied the young Chick-fil-A employee who was simply doing her job. She also noted that his termination doesn't "change Smith's personality or epic rudeness," nor will it prevent him from being rude to another employee who works for a company he disagrees with. Conservatives, she added, did not call for his termination, nor did they pressure Vante. "Vante, a private company, made this decision themselves and as a private entity have every right to do so," she wrote. "The community didn't make the decision to fire Smith, they did. This is the difference between the true belief in free speech as demonstrated by conservatives and progressives," she added. On Wednesday, Americans across the country swamped Chick-fil-A expressing support for free speech in an event known as "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day."
http://www.examiner.com/article/vante-fires-liberal-executive-who-bullied-chick-fil-a-employee sorry, wrong section
I bet the employee was so confused.
Let this be a lesson to all you "progressive liberal socialists" who feel as though you can censor the free speech of those that have a differing opinion than your own. Liberals* are the most intolerant group, if they are homosexual they are violently intolerant and ignorant of historic facts regarding sodomy.
Currently the highest rated comment, can't tell if serious or not No wait now this is the other highest rated comment, from the same guy too not surprisingly.
Liberalism is* a mental disorder and a social disease.
While I disagree with Chick-Fil-A's "moral" standings, I can't say I support the guy who did this. She was just an employee there, she isn't the owner of the franchise or anything. He was definitely out of line attacking her like that. And saying "I'm a nice guy" after the fact doesn't make him a nice guy, it just makes him an asshat.
Honestly this guy is a cunt.
Chick-Fil-A might have some fucked up morals, but they have the best chicken I have ever tasted.
they have the best chicken I have ever tasted.
You've not had good chicken.
why bully the employees ffs they have nothing to do with this motherfuckers just trying to do their jobs cunt [editline]4th August 2012[/editline] this guy is a straight up douche holy shit jus stay away from the restaurant like a fucking sensible person you dick
I don't see how Chick-Fil-A management's stance on homosexuality is in any way the customer service/sales assistants fault, the arguement "how can you stand to work here" is also a tad stupid given getting a job isn't exactly easy in the current economic climate (at least it isn't here in the UK, not sure about the US but I doubt it's that much better). Though I would also agree with the freedom of speech comment, at the end of the day, you can't claim to support freedom of speech/freedom of expression yet when someone disagrees with your opinion on a matter, shoot them down.
I think people are taking the whole Chick-Fil-A thing a bit too far. They help employees pay for schooling and donate money to kids with terminal illness. Then their CEO says he's against gay marriage, and people go out and do shit like this guy did.
I certainly do not support chick-fil-a, but acting like an asshole isn't the right way to deal with this situation.
i always spit on mcdonalds employees once i get my food serves them right for using processed food..
i always spit on mcdonalds employees once i get my food serves them right for using processed food..
I'm going to assume that's sarcasm? Sometimes it's hard to tell around this subforum.
I'm going to assume that's sarcasm? Sometimes it's hard to tell around this subforum.
Hard to say, at the same time it sounds really fucking stupid of a normal person and then again its the Internet where worse shit goes on daily.
I'm going to assume that's sarcasm? Sometimes it's hard to tell around this subforum.
Ιt's sarcasm.
Let's fuck with the employees who are just trying to get a paycheck like the rest of us for the actions of someone who doesn't even know that the employee even works there. Yeah!
The fact that he brought up he was heterosexual and thought he was a nice guy made me facepalm so hard. I just watched two minutes of a man completely embarrassing himself.

Am I the only one who's getting sick of all the Chick-fil-a news lately?
Though I would also agree with the freedom of speech comment, at the end of the day, you can't claim to support freedom of speech/freedom of expression yet when someone disagrees with your opinion on a matter, shoot them down.
Freedom of speech only applies to being taken to court over it. I can say the US Government is run by a bunch of asshat pricks that are below human and there's no charges I can be strung up on. They can't fine me or jail me over that, all they can do is grin and bear it. However, it doesn't mean I can't be shouted at by someone who thinks they're the best bunch of individuals to ever walk this earth. That guy is well within his right to express his opinion about my opinion.
I hate Chick-fil-A's stance on gay rights, but don't take that out on the employees, for all we know they don't share, or are even aware of, the company's opinion on the issue.
Am I the only one who's getting sick of all the Chick-fil-a news lately?
It brings attention to America's completely backwards view on sexuality/marriage (and other places too)
This guy missed the point so much

I don't see, why would gay marriage or any of that be a problem to anyone on the planet. They do not affect me, why would I be against it or be hateful towards it? Oh wait, cause the Bible says so? Yeah totally, lets blindly follow what a 2000 year old book who no one knows who wrote say. Just be tolerant people. If a person is gay, if they want to have a gay marriage, let them be. They are doing nothing to affect anyone. People should really stop being a fucking hive mind.
I understand where the guy is coming from. Even though the woman said that her personal views and the work place are (or should be) separate. I think that his message was that the company does have horrible values, and by working there you are supporting and allowing for this stuff to happen. Job or no job. Why would you want to work for a place that, in Smiths words, supports hate groups.

Look at the economic climate, I seriously doubt people choose their job based on the views of the business' CEO.
see this is why gay marriage is not legalized because cunts like this guy shove it in everyone's face. I think this is kinda like an IRL brony.

oh yeah, bring on the boxes
