*103 views and only 1 reply. Come on Facepunch, you can do better then that..* I'm looking for a monitor to use as a secondary monitor as well as the display for my Xbox 360. -So HDMI is a must. 1080p is also wanted :v: I'm willing to pay as much as.. $250?? I've been looking at monitors on Newegg for a while but I really have no idea what to look for and what is or isn't a good deal, so I would appreciate some help. What features are important and what brands are reliable?(etc.) Also, what monitors does facepunch use? [editline]07:37PM[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005143&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL090710&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL090710-_-EMC-090710-Index-_-LCDMonitors-_-24005143-L04C&AID=10446076&PID=3640869&SID=skim629X1198 This seems to be a good monitor, but then again, what do I know? Any opinions?
Samsung monitors are pretty great http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001388 I have a BenQ for this purpose but I won't tell you it's amazing.
I figured I might end up going with Samsung, 'cause my friend has 2 samsung monitors and they're both excellent. Any other recommendations?
I got a nice 24" ASUS monitor for $200. That should work well for you. I'll see if I can find a link. [editline]06:33AM[/editline] I was going through my Newegg email. You can get this for $259 with the promo code EMCYXZR69.
I've got a pretty nice Dell 24" monitor that I got for 200 bucks, it's got hdmi too.
I found a pretty sweet Samsung one on newegg a bit ago actually (don't ask), let me see if I can dig it up. [editline]09:16PM[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001420 Marketing shlos for you if you want: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/office/monitors/business/LS23B5HVFH/ZA/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail
Go with samsung, they are excellent.
Speaking of monitors, should I get this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001417? I'm not looking to spend too much, and my current monitor has awful banding issues. I'm more focused on image quality and contrast ratio than size. I'd love to have a smaller screen but with equivalent resolution.
Your link is broken.

It's hard to say, Samsung is supposed ot be pretty good with image quality, but when you're buying cheap you're buying shit. So it's hard to tell. Heck, all you may need is a calibration: www.lagom.nl/lcd-test

When I read the title I thought you meant like the command prompt for some reason so I was like, wut? But yeah samsung is generally where its at.

Samsung T240HD. Yeah, that's right. Even has a coaxial in for cable TV, and comes with a remote. [editline]02:08PM[/editline] Oh, and there's a second HDMI and headphone jack on the side in the bezel. [editline]02:10PM[/editline]
I got a P2470HD, and the back on it looks exactly like that, with inputs and all [editline]05:00PM[/editline] If you don't need a TV tuner, get P2470H/P2370H/P2270H. All are 1080p.
Calibrated, I still see banding and whatnot.
No banding -- God I love Dell Ultrasharps.
