So, yeah. I think I'm SOL because I just got a new graphics card in the mail today - XFX Radeon 6870 - and now that I've installed it, my PC will power up, and literally doesn't do anything. I get no signal from the card, and I sit at a blank, black screen flashing "No signal".
I am so at wits end on what to do here, you people are the only ones I have left to turn to because I want this thing running tonight and I will severely ticked if it doesn't. XFX support did shit; It's been two hours and I'm done waiting for a response. I would greatly appreciate any help I could get. Thanks for your time.
Specs (from what I remember):
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L Motherboard
Intel Duo E6400 @ 2.8GHz Overclocked
4GB Corsair DDR2 RAM
Thermaltake TR2-430W Power supply
(My old card): ATI FirePro V3800 Workstation Graphics 512MB DDR3 VRAM
My guess is it's my Power supply. I read on the system reqs. that a 500Watt was required, and that the two connectors were recommended.
Thanks again.

Hit this up. Should get you where you want to be in terms of whether or not you need a new PSU.
So you went ahead and ignored that a 500 Watt PSU was required and went and and tried it with a 430 watt one?
I've already got someone going to pick a 600 Watt up for me. I just hope this solves the problem; I hope I don't have an incompatible motherboard of sorts. It'd be really irritating to have to build my computer from the ground up again. :suicide:
Edited:
I'm a techie of sorts, but I lack common sense. Yes, I tried to run it with a 430 Watt power supply even though the requirements state you need a 500 Watt minimum.
a 430 watt is why
wait what
EP45-DS3L
Athlon
EP45-DS3L is an intel socket motherboard I'm confused.
I know, It was a bad idea.
I just hope I didn't go and fuck anything up or blow it up.
[QUOTE=Shadaez]wait what

Wait... it is? I may have read this wrong somewhere... I'll double check.
Edit:
it's GA-EP45-DS3L. My mistake.
FYI AMD Athlon E6400 you mean Intel Core 2 Duo E6400.
I must be an idiot. Either I need glasses... Or it's been quite a while since I looked at my specs.
Whatever. I'm done with this for tonight, I'll deal with it all tomorrow after school. Best Buy closed, so there's definitely no way in hell that I'm getting that PSU tonight. Thanks for the help, those of you that tried. Disappointing that I can't do anything tonight... but I'm screwed.
I'm sorry but I have to ask this : why the fuck were you using a workstation graphics card before :byodood:
Prebuilt, most likely.
Meh. Prebuilt, if you consider bought off someone else prebuilt. It was from a friend of mine for a really low price. He was a shader coder, but I have no clue why he had such a shit card :v:
Anyways... Do you think the 650 Watt power supply will solve this?
Edit:
I just put my old GPU back in and booted my PC back up. Everything was just fine. I take it's the GPU not having enough power, but I don't know if it's really the case or not. Could anyone confirm?
