As awesome as this is, I have a feeling Nintendo's lawyers are going to go after them.
Congrats, Nintendo. You now have Mario Party 11.
As awesome as this is, I have a feeling Nintendo's lawyers are going to go after them.
It's possible that they will given their recent track record of cracking down on mods, but they haven't really shut down many modding tools as far as I know. Countless level editors for their 2D platformers in the Mario series are still around and easily accessible, even with Mario Maker being out. It's just the videos of the rom-hacks made in them that have been pulled. Anyway, the title they chose for the board editor is pretty great. I feel like it could work as a title for a stand-alone game if anyone ever tried to make a classic Mario Party clone.
Pretty cool.
Already down?
Maybe they're just trying to go low-profile, because it just started picking up traction on social media? The videos are only private, and the channel is still up. [sp]also there's a tweet saying the videos are going down for the time being on an account with the same name as their project, but maybe we should keep quiet about that, too[/sp]
edit: oh
This is the romhacking tool I've always wanted and as soon as I hear about it they have to hide the videos?! Fuck I want this so bad.
