Well, i was playing TF2, and i usually run it on full graphics without any kind lag or low FPS. (I usually have some of it on medium though.) Now as i was playing team fortress 2 i noticed it started lagging alot, witch really ruined the joy of the game. i ignored it at first and just tried to keep on playing and ignore the problem. I thought it was something that would pass by, but however it didn't and it has become quite an annoyance. I tried to turn down the video settings and see if that helped, however it didn't. i also tried to close most programs and just run steam and the game, and the lag was still there. And now it's becoming a problem, as it creates problems when i try to be accurate in my shooting.
I don't have any kind of lag the first 3-4 minutes when i first join a server, but after a little time, it gets choppy and irritating. I doubt this has something to do with my network, since this also happens in single player, and the lag is there even though i am in a small room, looking at nothing in my direction (or there is no one on the server).
Anyone have a clue of what that can be the problem?

Try getting some compressed air and giving the graphics card a once over with it.
