Journal? :D
My Experiences With Sleep Deprivation.
Maybe this isn't a journal entry, it's just my writing style.
Although it is not in my nature to purposefully put myself through countless hours of exhaustion related torture, it is a good way to test one's willpower. It is a great way to test one's mental strength. It is, however, a grim reminder to know that one is just a few simple winks away from well earned rest. To do so would mean one lacks the willpower and self confidence to press onwards.
Sure, it's not the healthiest thing to do, but that's what willpower's for. To know you have a debt to pay for using your body's energy beyond it's limit gives it a price; to spend extra hours awake is to spend extra hours asleep. Be wary, your body has a mind to call it's own, the subconscious. Your body may not always agree with what you want to do and it may retaliate.
This could both be painful and exhausting to comprehend. Time may slow down, or speed up depending on your mood and what you are currently doing. What feels like hours could be minutes, what feels like minutes could be hours. What feels like seconds could very well be seconds. Truth be told, it's all in your head. Your focus, however, will dwindle, to the point where you can't call it focus at all.
You may hear, and not be able to listen, or you may listen and not be able to hear. In most cases, you have to look directly and what your trying to focus on and never break eye contact. For the most part, you will feel the information processing, and it will take some time.
If prolonged hours be at hand, your mind will periodically take breaks and you will "zone out." Zoning out is like sleep... without the sleep. You will rest, you will even hallucinate if zoned out long enough. If zoning out happens unexpectedly, the hallucinations may startle you. It is your mind, it thinks it has gone to sleep.
Be cautious, sleep deprivation may throw your internal clock out of sync. This can be very hard to fix, one way to counteract the zoning effect would be to keep constant movement. Keep moving and keep focused. This is where, and how, mental strength comes into play. TO have a strong mind is to control your subconscious, and to keep control. To do so would leave you in charge of your energy and visionary hallucinations.
What are your experiences?
So...When does the "journal" start? All I see is a foreword of warning.

I had this for a few weeks now, but last night I slept so I think I got it under control again
He's gone to sleep now '4:50 PM - TradishNish is sleeping, not going to be awake anytime soon.' heh.
it's not all that possible to stay awake for more than 48 hrs without lots of training and willpower
There's an easier way: DPH.
I once didn't goto sleep for two days straight the next day i was pretty fucked up.
I once stayed up the whole night to see if Santa existed.
I lost consciousness in the afternoon.
I once stayed awake for three days straight.
At the end, I thought my house was being invaded by giant frog-people.
I get the (possible) reference.
Well, it's the summer, and I don't need to be anywhere tomorrow, so fuck it, why not?
I am so going to do this tonight.

Me to sounds like fun. It's like once I got the control of sleep paralyz I could hallucinate cool things for a minute.
Eh, well, it can be fun once you have control, just a warning, if you're body's rejecting it, you're going to have one hell of a trip
My sleeping pattern is fucked up so I'm gonna stay up all night so that tomorrow night I'll be so tried that I can goto sleep at like 11 or 12 and not wake up at 5 in the afternoon. It's annoying.
"Yay summer's here! I can stay up past my bedtime!" Seriously though, as long as you're doing something, sleep deprivation isn't that hard to maintain.
I've never made it past 30 hours, and it's become evident that I never will. Especially after falling asleep sitting up.
I remember going clubbing one night and had work the next morning, in order to ensure i wasn't late to work i stayed up all night and i remember falling asleep while slicing onions at work. Pretty cool stuff.
