Reuters reports that Samsung Group plans to increase 2012 investment to a record $41.4 billion. The investment will go into hiring new employees (the plan is to add 26,000 in 2012), building new factories, acquisitions and R&D. Samsung is expected to invest around 7 trillion Won ($6.1 billion) in OLED[URL="http://www.oled-display.net/what-is-amoled/"] displays[/URL] in 2012. This number is actually the same one reported by Reuters back in November – even though total 2012 investment was expected to be around $30 billion back then. In 2011 OLED investment reached 5 trillion Won ($4.3 billion). I love it when space-age-y technologies like flexible screens can be seen coming to market. Makes the optimistic predictions of the future from the previous century look a bit more correct :v:

Just before somebody discovers some groundbreaking new technology which will be vastly superior to it.
Whereas most corporations would sit on their asses and not let anyone touch $41.4 billion, Samsung sends it all into the advancement of science and technology. It's not "give to the poor and feed the hungry" but it's still a good thing to invest in.

Corps (and people) which hold onto the money (banks) are what's fucking the economy up.

It'll be so cool when they start implementing OLEDs with laptops.
Flexible screens enable us to implement them into pretty much any household item.
Bending touchscreen OLED. So, is it worth investing into samsung?
not only its flexible its the most vibrant display on the market.
Samsung has alot of money to spend on cool things.
Thats one patent apple wont get
