Castle Of The Damned I approached the doors, So thick with dust. Solid and heavy, The handles covered in rust. I gently pushed in, A slight push of the hand. I slowly stepped in, To the Castle of the Damned. I took a few steps, And a couple more, My heart was racing, I was shaking to the core. I looked for a light, Something to brighten my view. I opened my eyes wider, The light was so few. The doors they closed, Like a silent gust of breeze. Without a creek or crack, Sliding shut with such ease. I stood in my place, Overcome by fear. Without intention, I felt the run of a tear. I had no other choice, I continued along. I had nothing left, I did not want to be wrong. As the hall way grew longer, My breaths shortened in length. My legs had weakened, So little in strength. I felt the distance walls, Groping for peace and safety. I felt tired and alone, My actions slightly hasty. I pulled out a match, And found a small piece of wood. I gave it a light, And felt sorry that I did. All along those walls, Which gave me shelter and ease, Hung the bodies of the dead, The gone, the deceased. I shook with terror, And my heart nearly stopped. With tears in my eyes, I felt my body drop. This place was not safe, For these walls were crammed. They had been filled, With the bodies of the Damned. Now I'm all alone, I've got nothing here. I've lost everything, That I held dear. I'm sure to die soon, For I hear them call. "Come join us, There's room on the wall." I felt my heart slow, It was soft with one last slam. I was now with them all, In the Castle of the Damned. Well, that's my poem. Post what you think of it.
