Moscow city authorities said Tuesday that they would not authorize a gay pride parade planned for later this month.
"From our point of view, there is no need for such events in the city," said Alexei Mayorov, head of City Hall's security department and Moscow's pointman on approving rallies, Interfax reported.
That title is a hot mess.

From your point of view? Of course not, you're not the one actively being discriminated against.
Gay prides are just embarrassing; they just reinforce homophobic stereotypes.
I kind of see where he's coming from, the majority of the country is really against the idea of gays, many think it's a mental condition. I can't see a parade going well, it's a massive streetfight waiting to happen.

That happened here in 2010 i think, the damn city was fucking destroyed. Now imagine what would happen in Russia
Gay prides are just embarrassing; they just reinforce homophobic stereotypes.
well maybe instead of those stereotypes being seen as bad we can let people act how they want? idk just a suggestion
Gay prides are just embarrassing; they just reinforce homophobic stereotypes.
Taboos should be broken, not further vilified.
Gay prides are just embarrassing; they just reinforce homophobic stereotypes.
Now I'm not a fan of them either, but it's a bit of a stretch to say they only reinforce homophobic stereotypes. Yeah it could probably use a lot less flamboyancy in general and and that would garner more widespread support, but I guess the point is for the paraders to get noticed.
Gay prides are just embarrassing; they just reinforce homophobic stereotypes.
yeah dude all gay people should just act the way straight people want them to
Gay prides are just embarrassing; they just reinforce homophobic stereotypes.
I agree. I'm not against gay people or anything but I don't see why they have to have a parade about their sexual preferences.
Dat title
I agree. I'm not against gay people or anything but I don't see why they have to have a parade about their sexual preferences.
they are parading because they want the legal right to marry. its literally the same thing with any other civil rights parade.
Gay prides are just embarrassing; they just reinforce homophobic stereotypes.
The only really shameful thing about gay parades is that some people apparently think it's good idea to dress up in fucking BDSM uniforms.
I agree. I'm not against gay people or anything but
here we go
I don't see why they have to have a parade about their sexual preferences.
I don't see why you have to care so much.
But I'm so glad to hear about your opinions on the matter as a straight man. Really. Because as we all know, LGBT progress came about only through listening to straight people.

So if anything the rally/parade is more required.
Just because a load of fucking knuckle draggers think it's a mental problem means we should just fucking sweep a whole section of society under the rug?
here we go
I don't see why you have to care so much.

I care so much because I can't avoid the matter. My college is full of pro homosexuality posters and events telling me what to think as well as pride events in my community. I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't shoved down my throat constantly.
I care so much because I can't avoid the matter. My college is full of pro homosexuality posters and events telling me what to think as well as pride events in my community. I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't shoved down my throat constantly.
It sounds like you actually do have a problem with gay people
It sounds like you actually do have a problem with gay people
I don't though, just because I'm being critical of the matter doesn't mean I'm against it.
I don't though, just because I'm being critical of the matter doesn't mean I'm against it.
then why do you care so much about posters and events you don't have to go to
that's not shoving things down your throat. you're acting like they're forcing you to become gay or something
then why do you care so much about posters and events you don't have to go to

He said he didn't like the constant bombardment of posters, not gay people. I for one don't really care what somebodies sexual orientation is, I don't really care who is fucking who.
He said he didn't like the constant bombardment of posters, not gay people.
which, again, isn't shoving anything down your throat
is this seriously an issue
fucking posters now?
I for one don't really care what somebodies sexual orientation is, I don't really care who is fucking who.
heterosexuality has always been accepted whereas homosexuality is still met with a lot of rejection and shaming (as evidenced by the fact that this parade wasn't even accepted)
there's nothing wrong this minority of people wanting to express their sexuality to feel empowered and proud of who they are
I care so much because I can't avoid the matter. My college is full of pro homosexuality posters and events telling me what to think as well as pride events in my community. I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't shoved down my throat constantly.
So now posters in the public domain is the equivalent of shoving homosexuality down your throat?
Jesus take the wheel man, I'm not strong enough for this shit.
