Keep getting "Display driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode driver320.49 has stopped responding and has

System specs as below:
I3770K
16GB DDR3
2TB WD Black
Soundblaster X-FI Titanium HD
Palit GTX670 Jetstream
Seasonic X Series 650W
Main menu and cinematic intro works just fine, but the very first part of gameplay (Lara swimming in the ocean) crashes the game, where the Nvidia error message appears (Only shows up when i run in windowed mode, for fullscreen it's a straight crash to desktop with usual "program has stopped responding" popup, for some reason Firefox ALSO crashes along with TR and shows an error message). Ditto for benchmark, Lara shows up for 1-3 seconds before crashing. Have tried disabling tessellation, using all lowest in-game settings along with updating video card drivers to 320.49, set Nvidia control panel to default/factory settings, still crashes. Tried 320.17, same thing.
Having the same problem with Deus Ex:HR as well, the moment actual gameplay starts it renders for 1-3 seconds before crashing. Odd, considering i beat the game on my old desktop with no hiccups (I920, Palit GTX275, 4 GB RAM)
Nvidia monitor shows GPU idles at 32-37 degrees, and my PSU should be able to handle a GTX780, let alone a 670.
Other games work perfectly fine (Shogun 2, Farcry 3, Skyrim, Killing Floor, Sleeping Dogs), with no artifacting/etc to indicate it's a faulty GPU. Only anomaly is my monitor shows as 59 Hertz under "Screen Refresh Rate/Advanced/Monitor", while Nvidia Control Panel shows it as 60 Hertz.
PS: At work right now, can only post "program has stopped responding" log details once i reach home. If you guys need more detailed info, just post what you need and i'll try my best.
Get rid of that driver immediately.
Use 314.22
Holy shit I believe that's nVidia's satanic driver. Get rid of that
thing immediately. I read this driver is bound to take down a GPU.
As samuel said use the older one.
Installed 314.22, still crashes. Here's the error message if it helps:

It says the fault module is d3d11.dll which could indicate a problem with directx 11. A quick fix would be to go into the game options and disable directx11 if possible. But there could be a fault with that DLL file
Tried Directx Runtime installer, says all files up to date. sfc /scannow in cmd.exe also reports no errors. Don't see an option to remove DirectX from add/remove programs either, sigh.
I swear i could have just deleted the DirectX folders in Windows XP and reinstall, not so for Win7 64 bit.
Edit: Just tested Metro 2033 + Farcry 3 on DX11, runs fine with no crashes. Think it's possible to ask Steam for a refund?
