:siren:AWESOME NEWS: IT WORKS! :siren: No, i didn't believe it either. But it's true. It works!
Model: TEAC A-4300
This morning i was disembarking from my bus, and just about to walk to school, when i spotted something unusual in a bulk collection pile. I saw one of these: Sitting amongst a pile of old old shit, and i took a quick look at it and thought 'I GOTTA HAVE THIS!' I couldn't wait until after school, someone else would have snagged it. So i went right on the spot and lugged the heavy motherfucker to class [looking like a total spastic in the process :P ]. I managed to get it into a store-room until the end of the day, and now i'm posting this. The deck looks fucking ANCIENT, and something tells me it won't work when i plug it in, but it looks quite mint, and if it DOES still work, then i've got a good piece of vintage equipment to toy with. If it's fargone repairs and is totally fuckered [a unique component is damaged and can't be replaced] then this will be a good source of electronic components, but i'm giving repairs a shot. So facepunch, anyone else have vintage electricals like this tape drive, and any idea on how they work?
I have no idea how those work, but that's pretty cool. Maybe it's worth some money.
That thing looks like pedo bear.
Can't say i know much about them, but clean it up a bit. Examine it before you plug it in, check the wire too and make sure that no wiring is exposed, ect. You got a nice piece of hardware, pretty cool imo.
Wrap the tape around your dick see what happens.

I'll take it if you don't want it (due to it being broken)
I was looking through the piles of junk and found a fully-functioning Play Station 1 with memory card, controllers, and a few games. I obviously brought it home to keep :P.
I saw something like this once. Someone was smashing it with a big hammer at my friend's house. Shit pissed me off, yo.
This looks interesting, search for it in any hardware website, it should say how to fix it.
You should check how much it's worth. It could have enormous collectors value.

It worked, i loved it, but being a kid i didn't take care of it enough and my step mom got her hands on it (she smashed the screen and binned it :crying:).
Did you try plugging it in yet?
Try re-installing windows
Try re-installing windows
Smart move. I'm currently still in school, so i'll have to wait until tonight to test it, and i'll have to check the electricals first. EG: whether or not the plug is safe, make sure it's grounded, check the status of the fuses, then if all that is fine plug it in and hope theres no 'BANG!'
fuckered [a unique component is damaged and can't be replaced]
Term's FUBAR son.
You should ask Pentium, I bet he would know something.
Reel-to-reel tape recorders aren't that rare, but good luck finding tape
I was looking through the piles of junk and found a fully-functioning Play Station 1 with memory card, controllers, and a few games. I obviously brought it home to keep :P.
Ha, I still got my old one and it works.
Reel-to-reel tape recorders aren't that rare, but good luck finding tape
It has tape. A bit dirty though...
www.AudioKarma.org Also, I am jealous...
www.AudioKarma.org Also, I am jealous...
And now all the more reason to be jealous: It works :holy: I gave it some TLC, cleaned the heads, dusted off the tape, checked the fuse and then plugged it in. Switched it on, and the VU meters lit up giving it a happy look, and i certainly was happy when i pressed play and heard music. Right now i'm listening to some crusty old jazz, but it actually sounds alright. The tape itself is a bit old, it'll do BUT i should find some more...

You must now find and play a 'Fiddler On The Roof' tape in celebration.
That looks badass, good luck.
