I am upgrading my graphics card to a new one.
I've been looking at:
MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition
ASUS Matrix GeForce GTX 580
and
Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 (then flashing to 6970)
None of them seem to be out right better (benchmark wise)
and I am struggling to choose.
My friends have said the the nvidia cards are over priced and are no good any way.
although if they were no good then wouldn't they be out of business.
Any way the point of this thread was for me to get your opinions and what you think is the better card.
please contribute yourr opinions are appreciated.
Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 (then flashing to 6970) - doesn't work anymore
I suggest simply getting a 570 or even two 570s.
Your friends are misinformed, get one 570 now then a second when the prices drop (when the new
AMD cards get here).
Better to get one efficient card than 2 half-assed ones. Get GTX 580.
Edit:Sorry, I meant to compare the 560 Ti's to the 570. My bad :v:
A 570 is by no means half assed, only 10% less performance than 580 for half the price, do the math.
Plus getting a second 580 will be expensive as flagship cards seldom drop in price.
Thank you I think I'll get a 570 you seem to have good points
Sapphire 6950 can still be flashed as long as you have the 2GB Model. A friends got one a short time ago and you can flash it. I think this only works on the sapphire ones now

it was revised to stop that a long time ago, unless you get lucky and get very old stock then there's no chance
