Windows Photo Gallery/Viewer stops responding, causing other problems.

This has been happening since last week. After viewing a couple of photos, Windows Photo Viewer just freezes. When I try to close it, it closes explorer. When I restart explorer, it's frozen as well unless I reclose it, when I reopen it and use anything that uses explorer it freezes again. I've tried renaming pictures.pd4, but that didn't work. What's the problem and how do I fix it?

Not sure, I've had this problem as well. I got around it by installing IrfanView.

Is this Windows Live photo viewer? Download windows live and install the photo viewer from there
