He's new to making Let's Plays and I was hoping you guys could provide any critique. Any advice for him is appreciated.
Edit: He told me to use a more recent one too
Don't record on a monitor with 4 pixels. Also, people don't want to sit and watch someone for 20:00 minutes - that's a big commitment, especially for YouTube videos, try and cut it down more.
Skipping through the second part and listening to it, the only gripes I had was that the mic constantly peaked even when he was speaking normally, and the intro doesn't do anything to warrant being 10 seconds long. Beyond that, his commentary through it was pretty average for what seems like a blind LP, which is pretty good for someone just starting out. If he can either get a new mic or fix the peaking issues on his current mic, I think for the most part his content would be alright to watch especially as he went on and got more comfortable with his own commentary.

Eh, it's all personal opinion. I like watching long parts for LPs because games are pretty long in general. As its a Let's Play, even if he cuts it down to 5 minutes overall that's still the same amount of content in the end, so why make hundreds of 10 minute parts because someone who would watch all of it in the end force themselves to have fake short attention spans? Of course, I might be a bit biased in my thought process about this considering that I put up videos of the same length and/or longer.
Eh, I guess it's just me not enjoying "LPs" personally. I find it weird dedicating a long period of time watching someone play a game, when I could be playing it. But I get why other people like watching these types of videos.
Also, the shorter the video gets, the more it appeals to YouTube audiences. I personally think he should cut it down, because you shouldn't use 'filler.' Try and adjust the length depending on how much actual content there is.
Your friend seems very coolio dude.
