Hey Facepunch, could you check whether or not these components would make a balanced build for a medium gaming rig without any big bottlenecks? I'm not looking for something that maxes new games, just reasonable performance. The configuration below comes down to about 1000$, which is about the max budget.
Corsair Carbide 300R Midi Tower OEM
Corsair CX 500W PSU BULK
Intel® Core i5-3470 Processor
MSI B75MA-P45, Socket-1155
Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 8GB, CL9
Gainward GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB PhysX
Samsung DVD Writer, SH-224BB
Seagate Barracuda® 500GB
Note: The GPU is required to be a Geforce because a specific game that this rig will run has some problems with AMD drivers (OpenGL). Thank you for your input!
EDIT: I seem to have placed this in the general discussion rather than PC building by mistake. I apologize.
With that build you should be able to play a lot of games very well without any problems.
If you don't mind paying $150 extra to have someone else build it for you, then go for it.
looks pretty decent to me.
Check the build Greendolphin posted here for a lower price and better performance.

Z77 Mobo, and a faster CPU that will overclock.
