Alright so I was looking my computer specs and I saw that I only have 3.18GB of the 4GB working.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
Any ideas?
Maybe a bad stick of memory or something. Try reseating your ram and see if it changes.
Is it in use?
Does it say avaliable?
It says 4.00GB Ram (3.18 Available)
I think it just means that you have the rest of it in use.
Check task manager.
Alright I'll check that
Yeah here look at this.
Says I have 2GB and only 1.2GB avlaible or so because 774MB is in use already.

Oh so that 3.18GB is free and isn't being used by anything. The .82GB that is in use is being used by my OS and other processes?
In other words, I have 3.18GB to do withever I please, and I don't have a mem problem

Wrong

why
Something is up because mine displays 4.00GB RAM too with none of the used bit either, and I'm on 64 bit too
well, he doesn't have a memory problem
Go into msconfig (hit winkey + r then type msconfig) go into boot tab and click on advanced options. Where it says maximum memory make sure its un-checked.
Sometimes integrated takes memory like how he said.
I got a meter that tests the CPU and Ram. When I have no programs open, looking at the desktop, The RAM stays at 32-35%

Are you on integrated graphics?
If not refer to my post above.
No I have a HD 5870. I tried that, it was already unchecked.

Open up resource monitor. ( open up task manager then go to the performance tab and click Resource Monitor.) Then go to the memory tab and a take a picture of the the entire window. And the post it here.
Maybe it's your motherboard. My P5B detected only a bit more than 3000MB after i upgraded my ram from 2GB to 4GB. Look into the bios settings if there's any memory remapping options, turning it on solved the problem for me.
