How can I power something that requires a 12v molex without a psu? Is there something I can make easily? I tried googled but didn't come up with much.
When you say 12V molex, which specific connector are you talking about?
You can get a transformer/ DC power supply like this one instead and then splice the end cable with a corresponding conenctor for that molex connector:
Sorry the 4pin fan one. I need it soon, Ill see what my RadioShack has.
Yes they do exist. It's essentially just a tiny PSU capable of powering a single drive.
No, I don't know the proper name for it.
And by soon I mean tomorrow. Would i be able to make something?

Any generic regulated 12volt PSU supplying the amount of current you need for your application + a connector from a dead PC power supply.
Then it's just a matter of connecting the wires.
You could grab one with a powered USB to SATA/IDE cable like this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/include/AddCartfromGallery.asp?EdpNo=2329300&csid=ITD&Sku=M501-1220&imgcart=1&imgcounter=2
And by soon I mean tomorrow. Would i be able to make something?
You could just use an old PSU and a paperclip like this if you really need one by tomorrow:

That's an awesome trick and I've done it before, although some PSUs don't like to start with too small of a load.
EDIT: one 12V fan should be fine though. Connect it before you put in the paperclip.

a (non led/xenon) headlight bulb from a scooter/car/motorcycle on the 5volt line usually stabilizes it so it starts and "runs" correctly
Well I just connected it with a usb, which is only 5v. But I'm flashing xbox dvd drives again and need to power the drive anywhere. 5v to power the drive, 12v to power the drive and motor. I'll just cycle the drive manually.
They make molex power adapters. I have one and use it for testing fans.
