Al-Qaeda appealed to Isis to release the British hostage Alan Henning because it believed he was an innocent aid worker who was genuinely trying to help suffering Muslims, it can be revealed.
In evidence that the depravity exhibited by Isis is now repelling Muslims of all views and backgrounds, even the terrorist group behind the 11 September attacks on the US in 2001 decided that kidnapping the aid-convoy volunteer was a step too far.
...
“The Isis commander then showed them Henning’s passport and said that this was the proof, [saying]: ‘There is a secret chip inside. This is so that the intelligence service can continue tracking him.’ One of the other Muslims from the convoy said: ‘All of the passports from the UK are like that!’, showing him his UK passport.
“The other Muslims on the convoy told them that this man had given up Christmas with his family to come to help save the people that Isis said it was trying to save.”
Later, Mr Kareem claimed that Isis was confronted by rival groups, which implored it to release Mr Henning. “Isis said that he was to remain their prisoner and they would ransom him for something. ‘Why?’ they were asked. They said: ‘We will trade him for someone in the UK prison system.’ The other Muslims told him this was not Islamically correct and they had no charge against him.
“One of the aid workers told them that the people rely on these convoys and actions like these would create problems for their efforts in helping the Syrian people. The Isis commander replied: ‘We don’t need convoys – we have Allah’.”
Wow.
‘We don’t need convoys – we have Allah’.
WOW
Here's hoping they both start fighting and destroy each other so it makes our job easier.

Just pray for food and medical supplies I'm sure they'll apparate in front of you.

think you're missing the point
It speaks volumes about you as a group when Al-Qaeda start judging you for being dicks.

You don't really understand what al-Qaeda is if you think it's going to "fight" the IS.

Here, here...
At least now that ISIS has no allies it makes it much easier for everyone to team up and kill 'em.
EDIT-
Just realized I sound too idealist here...

I think it's more that Al-Qaeda realizes you aren't going to cultivate the best image or lowest profile by beheading aid workers, no matter how many jars of Nutella you pose with.
If a terrorist organization that has no compassion has to plead to you about stopping the slaying of aid workers, you know you're doing something terribly wrong.
I love how al-Qaeda is like
"wtf are you doing you bumbling retards"
This is like when the KKK was fighting with the WBC.
Whatever side loses, we win!
Okay so maybe Isis isn't just a bunch of dudes using religion as a cover, maybe they are literally just that fucking nuts.

They previously had to ask AQAP to stop fighting their (Yemen I think?) government and get back to fighting the "real" enemy.
I guess running any large franchise organisation is hard, no matter what it is you have franchised. People will always stray from the "corporate" message, whatever it may be.

Having a cell system with indirect commands plus independent minded people is bound to attract those who have plans of their own.
You know you fucked up when Al-Qaeda, the group responsible for the 9/11 attacks tells you you've gone too far
Never thought I'd agree with a terrorist organisation, but honestly they're correct, it was insanely dumb to kill aid workers who were only their to provide to those in the margins, not fight a war they had no place in

Well, I would guess Al-Qaeda feels like its misjudged or something. Like whatever they do actually has a purpose or a reason.
On the other hand, ISIS just seems to attack and destroy whatever it pleases because of no "sane in a terrorist way" reason. It looks like they are just passing mass murder for terrorism based on ideology at this point, and Al-Qaeda is just going "wow what the fuck, these guys just do it for the kicks".
AQ probably wants to disassociate themselves with IS because public opinion withholds military might
The more they demonize themselves, the harder the hammer is going to drop on all of them

That and ISIS is pretty bumbling as a terrorist organization.
A terrorist movement survives by picking its spots and knowing when to go underground when things get too dicey. ISIS just screams for public attention and in doing so alienates basically everyone in the process.

I think Al-Qaeda demonstrated that they weren't overly concerned with the prospect of military might when they flew two planes into the twin towers.
Let's not read into this that maybe in some M. Night Shyamalan style plot twist Al-Qaeda were the good guys trying to defend the world from the rise of IS all along before we drove them underground, Al-Qaeda most likely wouldn't have been imploring for David Haine's release on grounds of compassion. More likely is that Al-Qaeda were able to foresee the consequences of murdering an aid worker in cold blood, organizations like Al-Qaeda and IS can't survive without a steady stream of volunteers for which you need at least some manner and amount of public support; if aid workers are suddenly too afraid to go and help in these areas torn apart by conflicts that Al-Qaeda and IS are largely responsible for then hunger, disease and all manner of preventable civilian casualties are going to start rising uncontrollably. How long until even those who viewed AQ and IS as liberators and heroes start seeing them for what they really are, savages who not only can't protect them but are actually doing them more harm than good; how long until they start welcoming Western intervention as opposed to taking up arms against it?
Aid workers in essence help to cover some of the cracks that these terrorist organizations are wreaking upon the countries in which they operate and IS just risked making those cracks a whole lot bigger. It was as stupid a decision as it was morally reprehensible and it was probably driven either by desperation or outright dumbassedness, possibly both.

so they're kinda like batman
the heroes we deserve
WOW
Who needs medical aid, Allah will heal all their wounds.
They'll infect and die painfully.
so they're kinda like batman

The terrorists we'd rather have instead of IS that's what.
The terrorists we'd rather have instead of IS that's what.
What an incredibly callous and ignorant thing to say.
The terrorists we'd rather have instead of IS that's what.
So we'll hunt them. Because they can take it. Because they're not our hero. They're a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
I would still like to point out that it was USA that supplied ISIS the weapons.
