Well it used to not do this, but every once in a while these things happen
Screen flashes black
Widgets on desktop fuck around with weird colors
everything will freeze but mouse won't, but 10 seconds later it will and i need to reboot
Switches to non-aero
It runs games fine
My graphics card is never hotter than 50 degrees its a 5770 sapphire
Will supply any other info if needed. What should i try.

Looks like the graphics card might be dying.
Thats why everytime i build a new computer or get new parts, i sweet talk it and spend the night with it so it doesnt act up on me.
but honestly, i think your gpu is dying.

Try different drivers, if that doesn't help chances are your graphics card is indeed fucked.
Unplug your DVI/VGA/HDMI and check if it's fully in. Probably not useful, but I have no other advice to give you.
