Yeah, that's one of the awesome points of Skyrim. The fall damage is very realistic.

Best kill I ever had using that shout was in that underground city
Guy I used it on flew off this cat walk and hit the big metal ball in the center of the cave head first and it made a loud *CLANG* noise followed by his death

Fus Roh Dah is perhaps one of the most entertaining attacks I've used in a game. It's just so satisfying to catapult a bear off of a cliff face and watch its bones shatter below.

I shouted my wife off the throat of the world. She got up at the bottom with half health.
NPC only take fall damage if they haven't gone ragdoll/knocked down. The game then quite randomly decides if they fell far enough to die or not.
