OK, since my graphics card went to shit i was thinking about now updating/upgrading the processor with it. my current shit CPU: and my Motherboard: so, the question is: will this CPU/Processor Fit and-or- is compatible with my motherboard
no
No, your processor uses the AM2 socket, what you picked out there uses the AM3 socket, sorry.
If your board was AM2+ then it would work. But unfortunately it's just AM2. Upgrade your motherboard to a socket AM2+ or AM3 (or even AM3+ later) to utilize the modern CPUs.
Upgrading a motherboard is a bitch. If you replace your motherboard, you're most likely going to need to replace your RAM. If you're already going to replace your graphics card and your CPU, you might as well replace everything.
Wait for the new processor sockets (since it's not essential that you upgrade right away)
i saw the the socket error-- but i have the money to buy a newer (maybe a cheap one) motherboard that is AM3, although at the moment im running DDR2 and it requires DDR3 i think it will be worth it since jack-shit is compatible with AM2 now (as i look on newegg)
