I'm ordering http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181040 for my EVO, and figured I might as well replace the stock thermal paste. Recommendations? I was thinking http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 Probably going to use it for my EVO and the GTX 680 I just got.
IIRC, you don't really need anything too intense for Thermal Paste. Most of it makes no difference, and only the really high end makes a total difference of ~3-5 Degrees (Celcius) cooler. But yeah, that'll do just fine.
Artic MX-4 is a good one too.
Best I'd actually go with is IC 7 Carat.
I don't think aftermarket paste makes a difference unless you have a high end cooler

I know it's not a big difference, but that plus it on my GPU plus installing W8 plus various other tweaks = a lot of performance increase.

Man, I'll never understand the amount of effort he puts in to be wrong.
Man, I'll never understand the amount of effort he puts in to be wrong.
He's right in his own little delusional world of yahoo answers and youtube videos I'd accuse him of being a shill, but that's probably giving him too much credit
Please don't buy arctic silver, it's outdated. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/thermal-paste-performance-benchmark,3616.html This is a fairly recent roundup of thermal pastes.
You want Diamond based thermal pastes since diamond has the best thermal conductivity. I've heard the best is Innovation Cooling's Diamond.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835209053 Like that? I can get it dirt cheap at work. (For cost)
That would be pretty great.
Just use the stock paste (User was permabanned for this post ("gimmick" - postal))
