ISIS beheads 4 Christian children for refusing to denounce faith
Four Christian children were beheaded by ISIS militants in Iraq for refusing to denounce Jesus and convert to Islam, according to the leader of the Anglican church in Baghdad.
Canon Andrew White, known as the “Vicar of Baghdad,” fled Iraq in October for Israel and recounted how brutal the country has become for Christians.
“ISIS turned up and said to the children, ‘You say the words that you will follow Mohammed,’ ” White said in video posted on the Christian Broadcasting Network website.
“The children, all under 15, four of them, they said, ‘No, we love Yeshua [Jesus], we have always loved Yeshua.’
“They chopped all their heads off.
“How do you respond to that? You just cry.”
Sickening. It really makes me wonder why civilians haven't taken up arms to combat against these monsters. Perhaps they're just as much cowards as ISIS is.
Swing Low Sweet Chariot, may these ISIS bastards have the same done unto them

Who says there aren't? Maybe most news outlets doesn't cover their stories.

it's like they really have a chance at them when they're outnumbered and outgunned, right????
Sickening. It really makes me wonder why civilians haven't taken up arms to combat against these monsters. Perhaps they're just as much cowards as ISIS is.
ISIS are not cowards. They are cruel, though.
I can't call violent takeovers an act of physical cowardice, but you could say that they are mental cowards in that they refuse to consider opposing ways of thinking.
That's not what I wanted to reply to you with, though. What I really mean to do is say you're an idiot for calling oppressed minorities cowards for not getting themselves murdered.

Maybe because they don't want to die a most likely pointless death that will have done nothing at all to stop them??
Why do people assume that a civilian uprising against ISIS will succeed at all?

Because hey, if I do that they'll kill me, my family and anyone who knew me! - Every honest person under ISIS occupation

Except, they have, and in times they've lost, and it resulted in almost the entire village being brutally killed.

Can't wait to see a couple of probably untrained villagers destroy a 30,000 strong veteran army
BECAUSE THAT ALWAYS WORKS IN MY FANTASY GAMES

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but while it is a very inspiring story, not everybody has the willpower to do such a feat. I personally would be rather uncomfortable with a barbaric mass of radical men with AK's and the reputation of not giving a fuck about human rights coming to my doorstep to kill me in the tens of numbers.
Oh wait the American revolution happened.. well shit guess you're out of luck.
It's not like they couldn't get training either, there are plenty of "advisers" that are there.
What kind of training do they need? How to not get shot 101? How to insert magazine 101? How to point weapon in general vicinity of enemy and pull trigger 101?
The average people don't need training, their commanders would.
Is this satire or are you being serious?

Average people without training going to war = you will lose half your people before you even reach the enemy.

The American Revolution worked because the Continentals were lead by George Washington, an experienced military commander, along with the help of a Prussian military commander, several other ex-military officers, and a massive French force.
And even then, the Confederacy had a far superior military leadership compared to the Union and they still lost the War Between the States.
Boots on the ground is a very much needed at this point.

this guy is right.... why the hell are we wasting so much money on having trained armies???
You mean the part where the colonists were extremely poorly trained and poorly organized until the french showed up?
Or the part where the modern day civilians are poorly trained, until a force shows up, it's not like the US isn't over there training people.
How much training do you need to hold and fire an AKM? About 3.5 seconds of "hey mag goes here, pull this, now pull trigger"
How are your so called "advisers" going to train people in the middle of IS territory, genius?

And it's not like they'd be fighting without support either, or did you forget the massive waste of money that is the US intervention in the region, THAT JUST GOT MORE FUNDING?
If becoming a soldier was that easy...

hello stop doing a fantasy wank
shooting an assault rifle is not something you just go "congrats here u go you're now effective"
i wonder why throughout all of human history trained armies of veterans have virtually always beaten larger armies of untrained troops?
And it's not like they'd be fighting without support either, or did you forget the massive waste of money that is the US intervention in the region, THAT JUST GOT MORE FUNDING?
You're talking about a battle-hardened jihadist group who've survived the best efforts of the Syrian and Iraqi armies to squash them, have significant stockpiles of heavy weapons, and are uncompromisingly brutal to all who oppose them. A few villagers with AKs are not going to win.
Ok. So a professional military has a shit ton more than just rifles and HMG's. They've got tanks, they've got aircraft, they've got ships, all of which requires maintinance and specialized training to use.
A "rag tag" group of villagers has some AK's, and some RPG's, maybe a technical, maybe some plastic explosives.
A professional military can wage war on a continental scale.
A "rag tag" group of villagers can wage a guerrilla style insurgency, you know, the same insurgency that's ACTIVELY fucked US soldiers up since 2001?
i think the difference between running an insurgency against the US and running one against ISIS is that ISIS routinely massacres entire villages of people?

why are you comparing a couple of poor villagers to an insurgency that battles the US?
