• Donald Trump calls for NFL to create rule mandating players stand for national anthem
An NFL spokesperson declined to address President Donald Trump’s latest tweet on Tuesday, which called for the league to create a rule that mandates players stand for the national anthem. “I am little behind on his tweets,” NFL spokesperson Joe Lockhart told reporters on Tuesday. “I may catch up by the end of the day.” Around 9 a.m. ET, Trump tweeted: "The NFL has all sorts of rules and regulations. The only way out for them is to set a rule that you can't kneel during our National Anthem!"
Source: https://www.usatoday.com/ Factual Reporting: HIGH, Least Biased
Oh, shut up, you orange twat. This is such a non-issue that you're collectively embarrassing all of the US (again).

Holy shit what a baby. People can speak out against the president and have secure employment, this is truly a tragedy. I'm curious though, is this pushing against the first amendment? For the NFL to enact it is one thing, but when the president calls for it one could argue that he's using his position to try to influence things he shouldn't.

As handstands are allowed, the acrobatics required to protest become more intricate. The US ends up taking gold in every gymnastics discipline in the 2020 olympics by sending disgruntled football players. China declares war. Casus Belli: "That was OUR sport, you fuckers!"
NFL league office, ownership, and players give a resounding fuck you to the orangutan in chief and he is still deluded enough to believe he can do anything about it, except for his ham-handed use of the bully pulpit and his cult of personality hanging on every word.
Is this to distract from the story about the health care bill failing again? He just keeps going on and on about this.

We have gone into full dictator-personality mode now. The only thing we're missing is the rule of martial law which won't happen because our population is far too large. He's trying REALLY hard to be an iron fist now. Like I want to know if he realizes that he's repeating history everyday.
Oh that's the problem? Not like the whole Charlottesville march that you support so much? "Let's make a non-issue and create a big deal out of it" - Trump says every time he tweets something dumb.
Is this to distract from the story about the health care bill failing again? I vote we just get rid of the anthem/god bless america tradition in sports all together.
Is this to distract from the story about the health care bill failing again? He just keeps going on and on about this.
And yet everyone falls for it, over and over again. Though technically speaking I am pretty sure the league operations and conduct manual actually does require players to stand during the anthem, it just isn't enforced and probably isn't constitutional for an employer to do that anyway.

And they'll find any excuse to put on the rose-coloured MAGlAsses and fawn over their toupée'd god. Distractions still won't make legislative procedures succeed.

I'm gonna predict that the NFL's response is going to be to give Trump the finger by kneeling that much more. He may be the President but he can't boss around sports franchises that make more money than him like he's a dictator.
Hey guys.
I think this one is much more fitting, to be honest.
Wow who would have expected that coming? Trump is a hypocrite? How? When?
I think Hansen said it best on this whole situation.
What I find very hypocritical is that, in my state of Maryland, people shout "O" during that lyric during the song (in reference to our Baseball team the Baltimore Orioles, or "O's") and I find that much more insulting than expressing your right to free speech. Especially since people do it OUTSIDE of the baseball stadium. People are so quick to judge someone "disrespecting" the anthem but don't realize that they do it themselves daily.
Protests by their very nature are supposed to catch attention and get in the way. This form of protest is great imo
Protests by their very nature are supposed to catch attention and get in the way. This form of protest is great imo
I'd say this form of protest doesn't get in the way of anything, it's a great way to bring attention to their cause without actually inconveniencing a single person. A completely passive form of protest and yet that's not okay. Just goes to show that these people have a problem with protest in general, not just violent protest.
The "President" has spent more time and effort on shitposting on twitter about what is effectively a non-issue than he has regarding the horrible conditions in Puerto Rico after the hurricane. What a fucking joke.

What a fucking joke.
Puerto Rico sounds Mexican, so they aren't worthy of sympathy. In all actuality, at least where I live, a lot of people generally don't spend a lot of time thinking about U.S. territories. They don't really think of Guam in terms of like "hey, we own that", but more like "kim wants to blow it up". In fact, not a single one of the schools I went to ever spoke of the U.S. territories in any capacity. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Donnie shared the same mindset.

I've seen this floating around on Facebook. Thought it was pretty amusing, even though of course nothing will ever come out of it. Crazier things have happened in the last two years.
So has Trump actually addressed or even just acknowledged the reason why players are protesting in the first place?
So has Trump actually addressed or even just acknowledged the reason why players are protesting in the first place?
Take a step back there, buddy... Did you just suggest looking at the bigger picture and making rational, educated, decisions on something? Check your liberal privilege at the door!

Dallas Stars do it here and it doesn't seem particularly controversial. If anything it gets more people to actually pay attention to the anthem. At least Jussi Jokinen doesn't play here so "Oh say can Jussi" isn't a thing anymore.
Funny how when it comes to white supremacists and homophobes all you'll hear from conservative talking heads is how everyone should always respect people's right to free speech no matter what but then they say shit like this. It's almost like they don't actually care about free speech at all and just point to it as a convenient excuse when they want to defend an agenda that they're too cowardly to actually come out in support of.

In their eyes, they can do no wrong and everyone is perceived as either with them or against them. Man punches Nazi: "Free speech met with violence wtf" Man punches BLM protester: "Showed him who's boss!"
