• Hard Drive troubles

I bought an external hard drive quite a while ago and last month I ripped open the plasic case and connected it up with a SATA cable rather than USB so that it's faster. Soon after that the MFT and the MFT mirror just went missing, as if it got deleted somehow. Today I've tried to format it and I'm getting nowhere. I managed to delete the partition on that hard drive to unallocated space and when I tried to format it with a NTFS file system it said the format failed and changed it to RAW file system. I deleted it again thinking that it was one of those errors that happen once and will work the second time and then tried to format it and I get this error. I have no idea what I can do to fix it. Does anyone have any idea how I can get it working? I don't care about any data on it obviously so I don't need to worry about that. Thanks in advance!
If it's still under warranty just go return it.
It's not, ran out a while ago.

Most drive manufacturers these days only have a one year warranty on their external drives. So if you check the manufacturing date on the drive and it has today's date exactly one year ago or more, it's out of warranty. Also since you tore the enclosure apart, the warranty is void regardless.
