So, does anyone use this? I've bought it and can say the functionality it provides is 100% worth it. Here's a screenshot-- E provides the functionality of the unix environment inside a windows text editor. It incorporates cygwin for many of its actions. There's near infinite crap you can add to it through textmate bundles. There's a few themes. I really wish there was a textmate bundle for gmod lua. Here's their website. http://www.e-texteditor.com/ (wow that price is a lot higher now than when I bought this) Also a youtube video showing why this is so much better than anything else-- actually you should prob just watch the screencast on their website
Or you could just download notepad++ for free
yeah too bad notepad++ doesn't offer half as much functionality thanks for reading
This is now a post your text editor thread. OP, your text editor looks like crap. If I used windows, I would use notepadd++, and you are wrong, it does provide as much needed functionality. This image doesn't show textmate to it's best because it isn't using it's syntax highlighting but you get the idea.
There's no fucking way I'd ever pay $35 when there's a free alternative that's great.
It's still not as good as TextMate.
It's still not as good as TextMate.
Are you dumb? It's got every feature of textmate in it and more. Textmate's completely outclassed by etext. Plus, it's on windows. gg.
This is now a post your text editor thread. OP, your text editor looks like crap
wow white on black is better that's a good joke tell me more
There's no fucking way I'd ever pay $35 when there's a free alternative that's great.
yeah because you actually buy software all the time I'm sure

If you say it doesn't have enough functionality, we need proof. Proof that can't be shot down simply by downloading a notepad++ addon.
If I want the power of Unix in my text editor, I fire up vim. [editline]06:06PM[/editline] I use vim for Windows at work too.
If you say it doesn't have enough functionality, we need proof. Proof that can't be shot down simply by downloading a notepad++ addon.
ok why don't you read the first post thanks notepad++ sure does have textmate bundles that's a good one ha ha
Whiney butthurt boy; stop raging at everyone because we've shot down your "amazing" program. Notepad++ is just as good, end of.
ok why don't you read the first post thanks notepad++ sure does have textmate bundles that's a good one ha ha
You still haven't done what I asked you to do.
Um, vim is still the best.
yeah notepad++ is probably the worst text editor ever made the list goes like this gvim, etext, notepad, notepad++
Um, vim is still the best.
Vim is alright, but we all know emacs is where it's at. :smug:
I never knew that text editors could be the center or a heated debate :v: Notepad++ is my favorite text editor, though I really like Sublime's "code map" feature
yeah notepad++ is probably the worst text editor ever made the list goes like this gvim, etext, notepad, notepad++
Didn't know people need to pay for $35 software to type shit into a box.
yeah because you actually buy software all the time I'm sure
It's obvious you don't know me. I bought everything I own and I have a strong anti-warez stance. Contrary to what these people may believe, white on black is not legible. (And does, in this day and age of LCD's, not save any power either.)
My notepad has fancy colours to
yeah show me your textmate bundles oh wait
Isn't VIM a CLI based program?
http://mercurylampe.org/images/vim.rar
Contrary to what these people may believe, white on black is not legible. (And does, in this day and age of LCD's, not save any power either.)
Green on black is where its at :smug:
Because Textmate is the only addon system in existance  All men know Worpad is where it's at.
Contrary to what these people may believe, white on black is not legible. (And does, in this day and age of LCD's, not save any power either.)
Not legible? I can read it.
I use SciTE Yeah, I didn't know what it was either. It came with my Ruby distro.
Um, vim is still the best.
If you use the cream extension on gvim. Just kinda prefer to have normal common shortcuts. Andd grey on green is imho better.
Isn't VIM a CLI based program?
Yep. The idea is that it makes you more efficient because you don't have to take your hands off the keyboard. [editline]09:24PM[/editline]
Contrary to what these people may believe, white on black is not legible. (And does, in this day and age of LCD's, not save any power either.)
White backgrounds burn holes into my corneas.
Not legible? I can read it.
I find it harder to identify a word, and if the white is just a bit too bright the words will become bloomy in my eyes, making it impossible to discern small details. Which is necessary to properly read text with such low resolution.
