• The Philadelphia Experiment | An Unexplained Event

I was reading through some old books about unsolved mysteries and this one came up. It immediatley sparked my interest and I thought some of you may find it as interesting as I did. I've re-written it all to make it easier to understand. The US government, looking for ways to help win the war against the Nazis, came across one idea from the naval military. The idea was to conduct a series of full-scale experiments based on new methods of cloaking technology. The government saw the huge advantage invisible warships would have over their enemies and promptly funded the research. The USS Eldridge, a large Navy Destroyer, was selected and docked at the philadelphia naval shipyard for experimentation. Now, this is where it gets interesting. On July 22nd 1943, a mysterious event took place. According to witnesses and military workers, the Eldridge, with a full crew, disappeared, then reappeared in the same position moments later. The ship was reported to be physically unchanged, and in exactly the same state. The same could not be said of the crew. Allegedly, on boarding the vessel after the disapparition, witnesses said that the majority of the crew had vanished, some were unaffected but complaining of severe nausea, and several other crew members had been welded to the walls of the ship. One man was reported to have been moved to the deck below the one he was standing on, and had his hand embedded into the metal hull. Many crewmembers were found fused to the underside of the ship, drowned. Another experiment, on October 28th of the same year, saw the ship not only become invisible, but teleport to another harbour, 200 miles away in virginia, then return seconds later to philadelphia. Eye-witnesses at the virginia docks said they were startled and confused when an enormous warship appeared briefly in the shipyard, then vanshed again. The events have been denied by the navy and the government, some said the experiments never happened, and others say they were testing only radar cloaking, not physical cloaking. Whatever happened, its freaky shit. Did the US navy crack the secrets of teleportation? Personally, if it did happen, I think they were playing about with something they didn't understand and merely stumbled upon it. What do you guys think?

Woah. Oops.
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=824014 We got ahold of it.
That thing is nazi technology. And from what I can see it just emits radiation and kills things, haha.
Isn't this also what inspired the whole Borealis story in Half-Life 2: Episode 2? Or was that just a coincidence?
Somebody turned noclip on.
Isn't this also what inspired the whole Borealis story in Half-Life 2: Episode 2? Or was that just a coincidence?
May have done. It was mentioned in assassins creed a little, so who knows.
Somebody turned noclip on.
and speedhacks, they went far and fast.
Many crewmembers were found fused to the underside of the ship, drowned.
That's crazy.
May have done. It was mentioned in assassins creed a little, so who knows.
Yeah, I remember that. The creators really got into the conspiracy theories with that game :P
Yeah, I remember that. The creators really got into the conspiracy theories with that game :P
A little too much I would say. They basically linked the Knights Templar to every unsolved mystery there is, hehe.
That was an era of freaky shit man.. The technology and things people in World War II (mainly the nazi's) was crazy.
That's fucking crazy. If they were able to do what it seems like nearly 70 years ago, imagine now.
That thing is nazi technology. And from what I can see it just emits radiation and kills things, haha.
Have a book.
Have a book.
Based on the results of the experiments. Its purpose of time travel was never attained.
What the fuck
A little too much I would say. They basically linked the Knights Templar to every unsolved mystery there is, hehe.
From the Tunguska Incident to the Denver Airport conspiracies, they've got them all. :v:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Experiment 'Tis nothing but an urban legend, dear friend.
From the Tunguska Incident to the Denver Airport conspiracies, they've got them all. :v:
Yeah, haha. I love all that shit though.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Experiment 'Tis nothing but an urban legend, dear friend.
It's what they want you to think. :tinfoil:
Yeah, haha. I love all that shit though.
You and me both. :c00l:
known about this for a long time, still interesting stuff.
I've read about this before, reading about urban legends. Also... PHILADELPHIA GOTTA REPRESENT.
swamp gas
Cool.
This is why I want fucking time travel already. Lets go back and see this shit.
This is why I want a fucking time travel already. Lets go back and see this shit.
Hint: It never happens Proof: We never get visitors from the future.
Hint: It never happens Proof: We never get visitors from the future.
Why would they let us know they are visiting from the future? If they are smart enough to invent and accurately use time travel, they would be smart enough to not change the past by doing some dumb shit like that and instead only observing the past.

Probably try to blend in and observe instead of going "Greetings from the future!!"
I think this one may be not be true but its interesting to think what kind of technology the government has kept secret. The U.S built the U-2 10 years after the World War 2 (erm typo there sorry :v:). We never have seen technological advancement like that in the last 10 years
