Hello there, i have recently formated my harddrive and I had a couple of partitions. One of them is now ''free space'' and is supposed to be usable. So when I press ''Create new volume'' the normal windows pop up and I can use all of the space on the ''partition''. All is done and its supposed to create new volume then a message pops up saying ''There is insufficant space on the disk to complete this operation''. (dont know exactly in English, have Norwegian) GIEF HELP pl0x ! :)
Um. Make partition size smaller (like remove 20 MB). Also how many partitions you have?

I have tried to remove like 20 Mb i have even tried to use just 8 Mb (which is minimum). The free space is 220 Gb.
uhm, how ? o.O All the options availible is New Volume or Help..
I wish Microsoft would update MMC Applications. Not user friendly, UI is inconsistent and it always opens in a small window.
I can only choose the ''New spanned volume'' the space is free and not in use, but when i want to use it it says ''Insufficant space on disc to complete action'' or something like that... i havent got any of those options.
you are only going to have volumes after 3 partitions everything else will be a volume, volumes are sorta the same thing
A new volume is the same as a partition.. So what i want to do, which i cannot because of some stupid reason, is to make a new partition out of free hardrive space. The thing is windows tells me that the space isnt there, so i cant use it.. which sucks..
take a screenshot of it
