Al-Zeidi was quickly wrestled to the ground by security guards, then imprisoned for nine months before being released in September. Saddam got up and left and Richardson thought he was dead. He was told to apologise for the very severe insult. It's odd to think that a simple gesture you don't even think about doing in one part of the world, can get you shunned/arrested/killed elsewhere.
