Whenever me and my brother play source games online at the same time we both get very bad lag, pings that slowly creep up to 999.
If one of us minimizes the ping starts going back down. This only happens on source games and happens when we're on the same server and when on different servers.
Any ideas what may be causing this? My internet connection is pretty bad (1.5 Mb/s down) but this has never happened before and just started happening recently in the past couple days.
Make sure nobody else is using your internet (neighbors), then try connecting yourselves to your router via ethernet.
What type of router do you have? I feel like it's too slow and has a bunch of useless 'firewalls' and 'smart' trafficing enabled on it.
