Alright, basically, there's CloudApp, which is a file sharing and URL shortening webapp. You could think of it as a combo of say, bit.ly and TinyPic - it's nothing like Dropbox, which is more about syncing than sharing.
Anyway it's also got a really nice app for OS X; you upload files by dragging onto its icon, and once it's uploaded your file, you instantly get a short link (or a longer link for private stuff) that you can instantly share on the Tweeters, Facebooks, or embed into forums, etc. You can also drag links from browsers onto its icon to shorten them too, and also share screenshots, whether of your whole screen, or of a region, etc.
Now, there was no Windows version, so I present: FluffyApp! (No, that's not my computer)

My aim is pretty much to replicate the official OS X app on Windows, though at the same time trying to make it fit in. It's still in beta right now, and I don't mean Google "beta", and so you may encounter bugs at times. Even so, if you decide to try it out, I hope you like it! :buddy:

Features for all you tl;dr people out there
* Drag & drop file uploading
* Drag & drop URL shortening from your browser
* Automatically uploading screenshots
* Region capturing
* Unicorn magic and pixie dust
Things to know
* Seen this thread from 2010? Well there's region capture, XP/Vista d&d fixes, a proper auto-updater, heaps of bugfixes, some other stuff I dunno
* Dragging URLs onto the dropzone is only supported with Firefox, Chrome and Safari only - bug Microsoft (I'm sure it'll happen :v:) and Opera to implement dragging text out of their browsers
I think you have some missing .NET or something because it works great here, thanks a2h!
please get a clue before you start inflicting your stupidity on others.
i can't drag anything onto the icon, my mouse turns into a circle with a slash through it when i try
Ok, bug report, when ever I go in to the About part in the options and scroll around and then go to any window with scrollbars and try to drag them they just stop within a second.
Weird bug.

I get that too, but thanks for info on how to reproduce, because I couldn't figure that out.

sorry boss
I get that too, but thanks for info on how to reproduce, because I couldn't figure that out.
Actually, I tried reproducing by going to the about box and clicking around, scrolling, changing tabs and I couldn't get the bug to occur
sorry boss
Did you even read what it said, rather than blindly jumping to conclusions?
Actually, I tried reproducing by going to the about box and clicking around, scrolling, changing tabs and I couldn't get the bug to occur
It's not actually doing it for me either. Maybe someone else will discover the exact cause of it.

I didn't read the error (silly of me blah blah), so yeah rate me box.
But isn't this just like that little box icon you have in your tray, called dropbox?
But isn't this just like that little box icon you have in your tray, called dropbox?
Install it and try dragging a file to its icon :downs:
Both CloudApp and Dropbox for me have their different purposes.
But isn't this just like that little box icon you have in your tray, called dropbox?
It's a little similar but this is very quick because it copies the link straight to your clipboard, and the convenience of being able to drag to an icon that is always shown.
Who does Cloudapp upload to?
a2h, you've got to re-do your about video sometime, you speak quiet and it kinda drags on a bit.
Who does Cloudapp upload to?
CloudApp
Invalid credentials
Well, I can login at the site just fine.
a2h, you've got to re-do your about video sometime, you speak quiet and it kinda drags on a bit.
Yeah, those two videos were meant to be previews
Why did turb only come in here to have a little moan without even mentioning his thoughts on the app.
i can't drag anything onto the icon, my mouse turns into a circle with a slash through it when i try
Strange, you're the second person to report this...
What OS? Do you have the icon set to show at all times?

Windows 7 64 bit. Yes.
This is pretty damn awesome.
It would be nice if it direct linked to the content, though.

I've spoken to a2h directly about his app, I just decided to read the thread. I was astounded by your stupidity, so I called you out on it.
Who does Cloudapp upload to?
Amazon S3

Minor glitch. But amazing app.
so is it essentially just dropbox or what?
so is it essentially just dropbox or what?
:sigh:
Fluffy has you uploading files to a filehosting service (CloudApp/Amazon S3) by dragging into its icon in the tray.
Dropbox has you uploading files to a syncing/filehosting service (Dropbox) by having a special folder called "Dropbox" in your Documents folder by default where you can put files into.
They work in different ways and are suited for different purposes and different methods of how you get things done when it comes to sharing files.

You might want to set up a handler for Application.ThreadException to catch any uncaught exceptions and pop open a dialog to report them to you.
What is the difference between this and Dropbox?
I can't really see any?
