• LCD is washed out

I just got a Sony sdm-hs73 off the curb and plugged it in to find something somewhat weird. Now you may say "well it was in the trash so no surprise its washed out". The thing is that the monitors menu (for adjusting brightness and such) is perfectly fine. It isn't washed out or odd looking at all. So because of that I'm wondering if the monitor really is shot or not. I'm playing about in the menu now trying to get something worked out. Any other ideas?
It could just be a bad quality monitor

Check the color settings in your graphics card's control panel.
This issue is present across multiple PCs (and my 360) So it's defiantly the monitor
Played with the colour options in the monitor's menu? Perhaps check the cord as well.
Yeah, a-k-t-w is probably correct. Did you try using a different cord for the monitor?
Some things wrong with the video input. I'm assuming you've used different cords open the thing and look at the video circuits some thing has to be fucked up.
Moesislack's right. If the OSD is fine and the video is muddy something down the line with input is messed up. With that said, is it DVI or VGA, and if it has more than one input, try the other.
Its VGA single input I'll try a different cable when I find one
