oh wow [editline]09:23PM[/editline] even though it's sata and shit your pc will not recognize the drive so no, it won't [editline]09:25PM[/editline] well technically the bios will recognize it, but it cannot be used on another pc
Pretty sure you can format it to use on the PC. [editline]02:46AM[/editline] Yeah. Just plug it in and format it to NTFS or FAT32, depending on what you're using it for.
im going to switch it because my computer has power but it wont turn on

[QUOTE=B1N4RY!;23020921]Try and make some sense first Ok when I click the power button on my other computer it does not start the screen stays black doesnt even lit up but the power icon on the computer say its charging do you understand
Somewhat, but learn to use punctuations. If your computer does not even POST, then the hard drive is not at fault, but other critical compoents such as the motherboard.

Then I would find the warranty and see if you are covered.
[QUOTE=B1N4RY!;23020921]There's a magical process called formatting.[/QUOTE] I know, but from what I've heard, you can't seem to access the PS3 HDD at all when connected to anything else except the PS3 it came in [editline]12:52AM[/editline] I could be wrong, though
You can... You just have to format it first.
I doubt it, but I'm no expert, also PC Building wasn't the place to put that, Though I understand why you put it there.
The PS3 HDD is a standard 2.5" disk (the ones you find in laptops). It can be replaced with any 2.5" disk if you need another one. You will probably need to get a 2.5" to 3.5" converter if you have a tower.

Since the PS3 Uses a 2.5" Hard Disk, the drive bay (the place where Hard Disks and Disc Drives are held in place inside a machine) must be the same size as a slot card on a laptop. Since 2.5" ≠ 3.5". Of course if your computer is a laptop, it will have the 2.5" drive. Usually it is stored near the Card Slot but in most modern laptops you may have to remove the key board out of it for access to the hard disk.
