Its decision means screenshots, videos and text currently on the No Man's Sky Steam store page may remain. While the ASA's investigation looked at Steam specifically, its ruling applies to the PlayStation Store, too. The ASA had received 23 complaints about No Man's Sky's Steam store page, with most accusing the assets of painting a misleading picture of Hello Games' space title.

The ASA contacted both Valve and Hello Games as part of its investigation, but because Valve doesn't handle the individual store pages for games sold on its platform, the buck passed to Hello Games. And based on emails sent to Eurogamer this month, it's clear the Guildford developer put a lot of effort into defending itself. It provided footage of the game and detailed responses to each allegation, stressing at every turn it did not mislead consumers. The ASA's ruling is based upon Hello Games' assertion that No Man's Sky is a procedurally generated game, and so the player experience varies from playthrough to playthrough. "The summary description of the game made clear that it was procedurally generated, that the game universe was essentially infinite, and that the core premise was exploration," the ASA said. "As such, we considered consumers would understand the images and videos to be representative of the type of content they would encounter during gameplay, but would not generally expect to see those specific creatures, landscapes, battles and structures."
i wasn't even here when all this "no man's lie" shit happened, but the game judging by the store page does seem really mediocre. maybe i'd even consider getting it if they updated it with more stuff to do.
so what about the other players it's "pawsybble" to meet?
There's no "Multiplayer" category attached to the side of the page, so the store page didn't lie. Sean did, but I don't know how much ASA can do about that. Actually nevermind
Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...
Actually nevermind
the way they worded that heavily implies some kind of multiplayer (as far as seeing players) without actually confirming it as a feature. at worst it's misleading, but not outright lying.
Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...
If that is the case, "Perhaps" I'll buy this game.
The steam store used to have screenshots of things that literally did not exist in the game which were later dug up from the gamefiles including lots of assets only used in the E3 demo ( which they had screenshots of on the steam page ) It's bullshit they're getting away with it because the game is procedurally made which means not everybody will see everything. That makes it okay to have pretty much bullshot level screenshots on the steam page
Is there an archive link anywhere?
