I didn't think the gameplay was that great but it's without a doubt one of the greatest looking, most detailed games I've played to date. Clearly a lot of love went into building the world
The Dark Zone, to me, is the selling point of this game.
None of this is actually something I'd call "attention to detail"
Nothing of it is hand placed, it's just the engine and technology behind it combined with a talented devteam that allow player interaction "creating" these details.
But nevertheless, amazing stuff, I'd wish more games allow this kind of "interactivity" in their games by covering the case that players want to shoot anything other than enemies.
It seems like games have gone backwards with such things.
In Max Payne I could shoot every bottle and flip every lightswitch while in CoD, lots of glass is unbreakable, lamps and computer screens are absolutely unimpressed by bullets and it all feels just super static nowadays.

Cooperative play in general is.
I feel bad for all those that played alone during the open beta, most especially the ones that said they wouldn't buy it because all they did was play alone. The Dark Zone and the cooperative play was absolutely ace, I was expecting a huge splinter cell cooperative-like gimmick but the entire game is like one huge pseudo MMO
If you play solo, you miss out on 90% of the fun.

The Dark Zone while lone wolfing is also pretty intense at times. When you got 4 people it's fun and you know any fight you get into is going to be even, or in your favor. When you're alone, everyone's a threat and you have to be vigilant. It'll be even better once actual decent loot drops and you're waiting on the helicopter with a good piece of kit on you
I did both and they were both fun. The PvE portion outside of the DZ is probably going to grow a little stale alone, I feel
Yep just keep distracting people from the cookie cutter formula surely no one will catch onto it.

I played the majority beta alone and still found it fun as hell, though I only went into the dark zone when I was with someone else.
Say what you will about Ubisoft, their TECHNOLOGY game is always on-point.
