Human serum destroyed only eight of the bacterial strains. But the alligator serum killed all 23, including drug-resistant bacteria such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). When the alligator serum was exposed to HIV the researchers found that a good amount of the virus was destroyed.
Eggs Fucking alligator blood
in the far future we will have elite operatives charged with finding and capturing genetically enhanced alligators in order to stem the tide of a massive viral plague affecting the entire globe. these operatives shall be known only as... dudes who shoot at alligators coming to a theater near you
I guess being around for tens of millions of years gives you a pretty good advantage.
This is great news. At least until we over-prescribe it and it becomes just as useless as all the other antibiotics.
It's always good to see science making progress. I can't see any way this could go wr-FUCK SHIT
Interesting; I wonder which substances in the blood were responsible for destroying the HIV? I assume the crocodillin antimicrobial proteins have a part to play. Also, was alligator blood a prominent reagent in Dixie-state folk medicine (no offence, just in case), or did they not use it back in the olden days of the South? Also also, in relation to the Killer Croc pic, personally I think a Daedroth-esque kind of alligator-man would be cooler than whatever's going on with KC's face.
cool! it would be like the 100th possible cure for HIV then!
I guess being around for tens of millions of years gives you a pretty good advantage.
Alligators fight a lot, and often suffer egregious wounds. Were it not for their amazing blood they'd be long gone.

Maybe Charlie Sheen wasn't so crazy with his tiger blood theory.

So, this news begs the question: Can we stop doing shit like this?
I wonder how they got the idea to mix the blood together. Like fuck, how do you even think of that :v:
