Some time in 2009, Postal came to visit me! He stayed over my house for a few days and I taught him the ways of the English Gentleman. We also got drunk and watched Bruno at the cinema. Whilst hungover the following day we decided to undertake something that two nerds from an internet forum have never done before - go on a massive hike and climb a hill that is nearly 2000ft tall! We chose [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illgill_Head]Illgill Head[/url] which lies beside the deepest lake in England - [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wast_Water]Wast Water[/url]. I know you guys don't like reading shit and would rather see pictures, so I shall tell the story while posting lots of nice pictures for you to gawk at.
Here's a picture of Wast Water with numbers that correspond to the location of a picture or video. You can click on it to view Wast Water on Google Maps. Our original plan was to follow a path along the lake heading from north east to south west, climb Illgill Head and then double back on the route along the top of the fell. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned as you'll soon find out!

Unfortunately at this point, we realised that we'd be pushed to get back in time to get the car out of the car park and headed back. Even though we had gotten to the "top" of the hill, we didn't reach the summit. The original plan was to carry on to path [b]B[/b] and then take [b]C[/b] down back to the route we had already taken. We didn't think we'd make it in time, so we doubled back and followed [b]SIXTEEN[/b] and jogged along the road at [b]SEVENTEEN[/b] to head back to the car at [b]EIGHTEEN[/b]. We managed to get a lift off of a very kind man about half way between [b]SEVENTEEN[/b] and [b]EIGHTEEN[/b], to find that the car park had closed. We managed to catch the warden in the nick of time though, and got him to unlock the barrier.
We had started out at about 8am and arrived back at my house around about 11pm. We must have covered about ten miles of rugged terrain. Needless to say, we felt like badarses. I decided to gorge myself on various junk food.

Was comfortably warm to begin with, a bit of a slight breeze. Got a lot colder as we progressed.
