The leader of al-Qaeda has issued a message marking the 12th anniversary of the 11 September 2001 attacks.
In the audio message, Ayman al-Zawahiri talks of the need for small-scale attacks - and even a boycott - to damage the US economy.
The message may be seen as a sign of diminishing ambitions and a more realistic assessment of what al-Qaeda's central organisation can achieve.
Zawahiri's message also praised the bombings in Boston in April.
...
"We must bleed America economically by provoking it, so that it continues its massive expenditures on security. America's weak spot is its economy, which began to totter from the drain of its military and security expenditure," he says.
Zawahiri advocates "continuing the drain of military and security expenditures so that we keep America in a state of tension and anticipation, [wondering] when and where the next blow will come".
Well this is going to be interesting.
It's like he WANTS to be "liberated".
He's so cute

I wonder if the best way to troll these guys is to just shrug whenever they bomb us and pretend they don't exist.

blame it on gas explosions and carry on like the Brits did with the v2 bombs
he seems to be actually smart through, considering what he said about the economy.

"Force the enemy the greatest offense to ever be endured in war.
To be ignored."
I want a little figurine of him to stick on the end of my pencil.
Translation: "we don't have the resources to carry out large-scale, organized attacks, so we're going to egg on the nutcases embedded in their society".

Two can play at that game. They make most of their money off drug sales, so we need to focus on hitting their production.
Another al-Qaeda leader? I swear these guys are like a dime a dozen, at least, this is the impression I get from mainstream news anyway.
Incidentally: http://vimeo.com/46310516 (ignore the crappy format. It's a legit documentary known as 'the power of nightmares' and used to be fairly easy to find on the internet anyway)

Sort of the same idea.

There's only ever been two leaders, Osama bin Laden and this guy

actually that doesn't really work, because its the only way the farmers at afghanistan manage to survive, not to mention the US tried that anyway, all it did was piss off average people trying to make a living in one of the most fucked up countries around.
really the only way to fix afghanistan would be a global honest effort, which is to say never gonna happen.
that dent could use a mechanic.

Zawahiri's been the second-in-command since the 80s IIRC.

OK, it's just one example from a quick google search (usually much harder to find information on topics such as these, as they're often deliberately buried anyway), but there are plenty of other examples on the internet floating around and I know for a fact this isn't the only article on the same topic as this thread.

New post because edit is acting strangely on me for now.

If what this guy was saying was true, no wars would ever be fought or won or lost. He also doesn't take into account the fact the media often deliberately blows things like this out of proportion to begin with anyway.
