• I require the assistance of Doctor Facepunch: Unexplained scarring on my back

First of all, yes I have been to my doctor! For about a year now I have had this weird unexplained scarring on my back. Recently after a visit to my doctor about my muscle injury I quickly asked him about it and showed it, and he shrugged it off as "stretch marks". My friends have had stretch marks from growing and it looks nothing like it, I have shown it to them and they are all puzzled by it. I really want to get rid of this, because it's rather embarrassing when I change for PE or go swimming. But for the life of me I can't figure out what exactly it is and how I can get rid of it. So I have come to FP for help. Here are some pictures of it, sorry for the blurriness, it's hard to take a picture from behind your back: Before you ask, I am not naked in those pictures. Anyway, any help guys?
you emo, stop slitting your back
That's not unusual to see. It often becomes like that when your skin do not have enough time to grow as fast as your body do, or something like that. In the big all, body grows, skin stretches, creating those 'scars'. May also be the result of getting fat fast.
Go to a doctor again, try a dermatologist.
I have similar ones on my knees, not that big or long, but it's due to my pants being tight and "cutting" my legs so to speak.

The weird thing is that I have not grown much taller in ages, and this appeared during this period of little growth.
The pictures are shaky, but I would get that looked at.

They happen as explained previously, when you skin has to stretch to accommodate rapid bone growth. Completely harmless and there isn't anything you can do about them. They do fade somewhat over time though.
Your corrupt woman is secretly scratching your back at night. Lock her in the kitchen where she belongs.
I have the exact same things on my back, went to my doctor and he said they were stretch marks and that they'd clear themselves up eventually. No need for any further treatment then, unless you really want to get rid of them.

You enjoy a good dominatrix?
They look like stretch marks to me. I got those when I sat in my computer chair with a bad posture. Eventually they will turn white and wont be nearly as noticeable and most men (and women) have them. If you dont think they are stretch marks try looking up Cushing's disease.
I have them up the back of my leg. No idea.
Those are stretch marks. Not a lot you can do.
If they are stretch marks I find it weird that I have had them for more than a year now.

satan has entered your home to scratch your back and suck your nipples
Are you currently obese? Have you ever been in a state of obesity?
You can get a cosmetic surgery to have the skin removed but the price and pain plus the possible scarring afterwards makes it not worth it. I think you can get some water proof foundation if it really bothers you.
Been wrestling any tigers recently?
Are you currently obese? Have you ever been in a state of obesity?
I'm 5ft 10 and about 63kg(140lbs) so not really.

That explains it on my back.
I've got something quite like this on my back, though less and lighter. Asked my doctor about it when I was getting my sports physical and I think he had a name for them I can't remember now, but it's basically just stretch marks and nothing to worry about. They may go away after some period of time. I wouldn't be ashamed that you have them, personally. If anyone asks, come up with a story about, as one of the posters above said, wrestling tigers or something. Scars are badass, man. [editline]Research[/editline] Research :eng101:
Stretch marks, or striae, are a type of skin scarring that affects the dermis and epidermis layers of the human skin. First appearing as red or purple lines on the skin, the scars usually fade to silver-pink or white within a few years. The striae are believed to be a result of tearing to the dermis, and are caused by several different conditions and factors. ... In adolescence, growth spurts or sudden weight gain can cause red and purple types of stretch marks in places where fat is stored. Typical areas for growth-spurt related types of stretch marks are the back, upper arms, breasts, hips and thighs. Stretch marks can also be formed by quick muscle growth, commonly seen in young athletes. Some studies have shown that as many as 70% of adolescent girls and 40% of adolescent boys are affected by striae. Stretchmarks Got them myself from training too much in the gym.
1. Doctor tells you they are stretch marks 2. you ask facepunch 3. facepunch tells you they are stretch marks Through the use of the associative theory, facepunch really is like a panel of doctors. Guys, I got a chunk of metal from a nail stuck under my eye, and I'm not going to pay to go to the doctors to have them pull it out. What would be the best way to numb the skin so I can yank it out?
