Steam keeps switching my keyboard language to french

While I'm in game steam will seem to switch my keyboard language to french. How do I fix this?

failing that, reinstall drivers etc, check to see which country steam has you under

Check your windows keyboard settings. I remember I had Japanese "enabled" on my keyboard and whenever i pressed a certain key combo i would suddenly start typing Japanese characters in steam.
