The former CEO who was caught on video kicking a puppy in a Vancouver hotel elevator has been fined $5,000 and banned from owning or controlling an animal for three years.
Des Hague was the CEO of U.S. catering company Centerplate when video surfaced that appeared to show him kicking a small, cowering dog, five times, and swinging it up from the ground by its leash.
The incident has already caused Hague "enormous collateral consequences," said Judge Frances Howard in her sentencing.
$5000 might be little for a CEO like him but most of those acts usually get smaller fines or just get ignored. I'm glad his company got fucked thought. I just hope they end kicking him and they resurface economically, all those catering workers don't need to lose their jobs because their shitboss abused a poor dog.
What things run through these people's minds that cause them to do obscene acts such as this? You've got to be a grade-A cunt or just crazy to hurt an animal or a human being out of pure hatred.
This guy deserves whatever he has coming for him.
You say "only" but this seems like it could be the punishment for a normal person, so in that light justice has been served. That said, even for a normal person the punishment seems a little light, should probably be 6 years or more.

And an article on it as well from last September.

In some sense, he arguably got off worse than most people, since the negative PR the video attracted forced him to fold and resign, the $5,000 loss pales before the money lost from losing his position. Also.

Jesus Christ he looks like a douchebag.
He got fined more then 5K, just not by the courts
Hague pleaded guilty to animal cruelty in February. He also resigned from Centerplate and was ordered by the company to donate $100,000 US to animal welfare following the public furor over the August 2014 incident.
Which is damn good punishment. And useful too

Ordered to donate money from a company that he no longer works for? What?

Why does facepunch have a need to insult people after they do a crime? I understand they are a bad person but if you took a random CEOs picture and posted it and just said "this guy looks like a cunt nugget" it would be kinda weird
