Welp, after watching The Book of Eli I decided I should try writing more electronic music. I wanted to write a song that could go along with a similar story and setting to The Book of Eli's (post apocalyptic, but with hope), and ended up making this: It's really my first serious attempt at anything electronic, so constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. Also, thanks to Yur|ko for coming up with the name! :buddy:
It's fucking amazing.
Yep, fucking good! But there are some things that you can "upgrade", I'll try to explain you what. Good points but can be better: -There is like a wind behind the melody, no? So, you can add more after-effects like some bamboos sticks hitting eachother, it coud be better, I think. -The melody is quite cool but you'd better put it at the beginning after a short intro, of course -The intro is quite long... there is a preview of the melody (which is a great idea) at the 20th second but the theme really begins at 1.12 minutes. In fact, the intro has 1/3 of your song. I don't know if you did it on purpose... -The voice (1.20 to 1.36 minutes): 16 seconds? Well, it's a bit short, I think that you might develop it. [When I heard it, at this period, I don't know why but I feel just a bit lost because I don't know where the voice come from and when I realize, the voice suddenly stop: too short] Very good points: -The cello bass and theme are good -There are a beginning and a end which are corrects: well done, because it's not as easy as we can think. -The drum carries along the song. Sure your song is impressive, it's why I never grow tired when I listen to it. Sorry for my spelling mistakes.

As far as showing the melody earlier, do you have any suggestions? I want it to get more powerful each time, so I don't want to add in something that early and have it be too climactic. Yeah the voice is definitely a bit short, I'll see what I can do to extend it. Thanks a lot for all the suggestions, they really help!
i haven't seen book of eli, but it's definitely on a close par with alot of film instrumentals- if not better. I could easily see this being used in a sci-fi film the only problem i might have with this is that it takes a bit long to develop; even though the intro is still pretty awesome

You have many possibilities but I suggest you one, easy but really cool: add a violin which will play all the time during that period with the drums until that cimmactic moment. All of the volin's line in crescendo. I can you give the line if I found one before you and if you agree of course.

I've used it before, like in here. The only thing with that effect is that I think it'd make the song too dark, but I'll experiment with it.
