My Dell Studio XPS laptop apparently have an acellerometer, how can I put it to use?

apparently has*
I know that it is entirely possible to use the acellerometer to other things than what it is intended for, but I don't have any idea how.
I've been sitting here, using google for the two past hours, but all I find is that apparently Firefox has a some kind of support for it. Nothing I find explains anything about how it's supposed to work anyways. :suicide:
I find a website that has a javascript that supposedly should turn the website in the opposite direction that you turn your laptop, keeping it leveled at all times.
Only problem is.. what the fuck do I do with it? where do I put it? Googling "How to use Javascripts" didn't exactly tell me anything that made any sense to me either.
I just want an application or a game or whatever that lets me fool around with the acellerometer in my damn laptop! So can any of you help me out?
(I suppose this is the correct section for this.)
