I'm doing a project for school, And I'd like to recreate the effect on his voice.. I'm not exactly a sound freak, all i have is audacity. Any help is appreciated. :3:
Sounds like Reverb, or Delay. Most likely Delay or Echo really.
It sounds like it is triple tracked, meaning all you have to do is to record yourself three times and pan them. The amount changes a lot, so it isn't all three tracks playing at once all the time. There also seems to be a stereo effect with a hard pan and a large delay on the opposite side, and that opposite side likely has more reverb and less highs and mids. There is likely a bit of reverb in there and if there is delay it is just enough to add some presence. There may be a lot more minor things going on, but that's what I picked up on the first listen through. Eminem does a lot better job double tracking, he's usually spot on with the timing and phrasing, and is off just enough to create a lot of depth while sounding the same. This guy does a terrible job with it. I recommend not using audacity to mix. I see it more as a sound recorder/editor. You can make and mix songs in it, but the process is very annoying when compared to any DAW.
Proabably overtracked, but I think it's a slapback delay which is just echo at a really high rate. /noobtalk
